Transcript for "Product Update Briefing - Blackbaud Enterprise Fundraising CRM™ and Blackbaud Internet Solutions™":
Hello, everyone. I'm Tiffany Crumpton, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the new vice president of products and head of fundraising here at Blackbaud. I have been a part of the Blackbaud team for many years, working closely with our fundraising solutions and more importantly with you, the customers who rely on those solutions each and every day. That long history gives me a very deep appreciation for the scale, the complexity, and the mission critical nature of fundraising, and for the responsibility that we have to keep raising the bar as your partner. Innovation has always been core to Blackbaud's fundraising portfolio, and we are so incredibly energized by what's ahead. Across our solutions, we're actively delivering enhancements that reflect how fundraising teams work today while also laying the foundation for what you will need next. What you will see in these briefings is not just a snapshot of what's new. It's part of a broader ongoing commitment to modern, intelligent, and connected fundraising technology developed hand in hand with you, our customers, and released with intention. We are so ready to build on the momentum that we have. We're excited about what's already coming to market, and we're even more excited about where we're going. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Now let's dive in. Hello, and welcome to the May product update briefing for Blackbaud Enterprise Fundraising CRM and Blackbaud Internet solutions. If you've joined today, this session in hopes of hearing updates for the Razer's Edge NXT or eTapestry, please note that we have separate product update briefings for those solutions. Before we get started, I wanted to just highlight a few housekeeping items. You are using Goldcast platform and there's a few items on here that may be of interest to you. The CC button at the bottom, you can use to access captions, to turn, captions on and off. This is broadcast through your computer speakers. So if you encounter any audio or technical issues, we recommend you just refresh your browser. Note that there is not a separate call in number for this. On the right hand side of your screen, you'll see the q a q and a and resources section. We have a great team standing by to help field questions. So please use those, throughout the session if anything comes to mind. It would be helpful if you're specific, and in framing up your question. So instead of saying, when will this be available? You can ask about a specific, feature or capability. We will respond to all questions. So if we don't get back to you during the session, please be patient if we need to follow-up. And, wanted to also before we begin, we'd like to acknowledge acknowledge the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to the land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their elders past and present and extend that respect to Aboriginal and the Torres Strait Islander peoples today. And because this is a product update briefing session, I do need to read the following safe harbor statement in its entirety. This presentation contains forward looking statements that involve inherent risks, uncertainties, and assumptions. It outlines Blackbaud's current plans and general product direction as of the date this presentation was created. Functionality described in this presentation that is not currently available is subject to change at any time without notice at Blackbaud's sole discretion. For our product update briefing today, you'll hear from several leaders across our product management team who are working to transform enterprise fundraising with you. I'm Allison Madrigal, senior principal product marketing manager for Blackbaud CRM, and I'm pleased to be joined by Chris Ager, Depindra Kaur, and Lokesh Ranjan Nath, from the product management team, who you'll be hearing from later today. Today's agenda will focus on three general pillars. First will be our vision and strategy for enterprise fundraising innovation. You'll learn how we're building Blackbaud CRM for the future and what that path looks like going forward. We'll also look at specific roadmap items that are in active development. This section also will feature prototypes and videos of work underway, as well as work that's been recently released. And you'll learn about the value streams we're driving for you and your teams. And then we'll close with a recap of resources and ways to empower your journey with Blackbaud CRM and Blackbaud Internet solutions. And now it's my pleasure to pass the microphone to Chris Ager, who will guide you through our vision and progress for enterprise fundraising innovation. Thank you, Allison. Thank you. Our focus is to bring you the best fundraising capabilities that supports your processes and scales to your need. That is, of course, what you expect from Blackbaud CRM. Yeah. Our guiding vision for Blackbaud CRM is to take proven fundraising workflows and make them even stronger. Make them easier and more reliable, connecting your ecosystems and embedding emerging technologies like AI where it is where it provides measurable improvements and outcomes. With building security, compliance, and risk safeguards. For us, AI is not a side project. It's a significant priority because it's the most effective way to streamline daily work tasks and free up teams to focus on more donor relationships. Hence, when we refer to our AI vision, Blackbaud is dedicated to helping you work smarter, faster, and more strategically. Powered by Blackbaud unmatched knowledge in fundraising, and analytics, our focus is to empower your organization in three distinct areas. Firstly, chat for Blackbaud AI enables engagement with your data using natural language to quickly surface insights, generate content, and access fundraising best practices without complex queries. Intelligent assistance then enable AI driven workflows to accelerate tasks across cultivation, stewardship, strategy, and digital fundraising, meaning less time on manual tasks and more time building donor relationships. And finally, agents for good brings our agentic AI team members that expand your capabilities and augment your staff to help you unlock new revenue streams and drive deeper engagement. Agents for Good is a new offer that will be coming to Blackbaud CRM customers. And each of these different AI tools brings benefits and opportunities. For example, chat for Blackbaud AI is a human led, is human led. It helps enrich workflows by surfacing the information that users want to access quickly and easily. And it can help build new content for email outreach to help draft communication plans with your constituents. And then as we layer on more of these assist intelligent assistance, we can deliver greater automation requiring less, user prompting to achieve an action. Whether that's keeping prospect plans updated, suggesting constituents that are not being stewarded, or simply helping you to keep your data up to date. And finally, we see agentic team members working alongside your existing staff to drive value to your organization. This progression really opens up a huge world of possibilities. Underpinning all of this innovation is the Blackbaud Sky platform. Blackbaud hosting through cloud Blackbaud cloud operations and the core Sky platform services are the building blocks which bring increased uptime as well as industry leading security. When we lay on Sky UX, which is more than just a new user experience, it drives innovation that I've been speaking about. It also encompasses Sky add ins, Sky APIs, and the Blackbaud marketplace that offers new opportunities for extending and making your solution fit for your ongoing needs. And our innovation story started back in 2021. We've been making huge strides since then across all of Blackbaud to provide services that now allow you to that that now allow you to deliver allow us to deliver quickly to you. Excuse me. Now we're seeing the benefits and realizing that through Sky UX, Blackbaud AI, and the agents for good all landing this year or early next year. So as I wrap up the vision section of this presentation, you will see us reference features under the headings of releasing now, coming next, and looking ahead. These give you an understanding of the timelines that we are planning for each of these exciting capabilities. And it's not just framing of timeline. Let me give you an idea of how we're gonna organize the content today. Our updates have been grouped into three key focus areas. We'll start with the acceleration. We'll start with, of. So the first will be our fundraising intelligence for AI. Excuse me. Looking at how Blackbaud CRM is evolving around all of your fundraising intelligence. The new experience, also brings the power of Blackbaud CRM. Whilst that is also being while it's also being easier to use and providing greater flexibility for your needs, And then we'll finish off with our commitment to supporting your needs now and in the future. You'll see how we're working to deliver Blackbaud CRM that is both smarter and more intuitive. And with that, I'm gonna pass over to Deepinder who's gonna start our presentation with simplicity Simplicity by Design. Thank you, Chris. My name is Deepinder. Today, I'm excited to introduce Sky UX for Blackbaud CRM, a major step forward in how we are modernizing the experience while staying true to what our customers rely on. At the heart of it, it is more streamlined, responsive, and simplified, designed to help your teams work faster, focus on relationships, and spend less time navigating the system. Let's dive right in. This is the modernized constituent's functional area in Blackbaud CRM, and it's the first place you'll notice the Sky UX advantage. On the left hand side, you'll see the icon based navigation rail. Every functional area in this system, constituents, revenue, events, prospects, and more, lives here. It's it's always visible, always consistent. This is a core Sky UX pattern, persistent navigation that reduces clicks and keeps your users oriented no matter where they are. What you'll notice right away is a cleaner, more modern interface that feels intuitive and consistent with other Sky experiences across Blackbaud. Layouts are more responsive, and core information is easier to scan and act on. From a usability perspective, we have focused on clear organization of information, so related data is grouped logically, then improved accessibility and keyboard navigation, supporting a broader range of users, and then consistent patterns across pages, reducing cognitive load and making common actions easier to learn and repeat. At the same time, this is not a rewrite of your business processes. One of our guiding principles with Sky UX for BBC RM is familiarity with confidence. The constituent record is built on the same trusted foundation and rules you use in classic BBC RM today. Your validations, workflows, and data integrity remain intact so teams can adopt the new experience without disruption or re or retraining overhead. That means the reliability, accuracy, and depth you trust remain fully intact. As we modernize, we have been very intentional about making this change easy for your teams to adopt. It is change management friendly by design. While the interface is modern and refreshed, the layout, structure, and configuration closely mirror classic DB CRM, so users can rely on what they already know. Pages, tabs, sections, and inter and interactions follow familiar patterns, making it easy for staff to find information, complete tasks, and stay productive from day one without significant retraining. There is more to modernization here. We are modernizing how the Sky user experience is delivered using modern continuous deployment principles. Enhancements and refinements are released incrementally rather than bundled into traditional service packs, allowing us to move faster and deliver value more continuously. Blackbaud CRM service pack 42 introduces the technical foundation required to connect Blackbaud CRM to the Sky user experience. Installing s p 42 does not automatically grant access to the Sky user experience. An organization administrator must explicitly enable and permission the Sky experience for users, ensuring controlled and intentional adoption in their Blackbaud ID enabled environments. Now let me orient you to this time line. This is our 2026 Sky UX rollout plan for Blackbaud hosted customers and specifically for Blackbaud cloud operation customers with Blackbaud ID implemented. Across the left are the major fundraising workflows. Along the top is the calendar year. For each workflow, you'll see two milestones, EAP, where we validate with early adopters and incorporate feedback, and then GA, where it becomes generally available. Our sequencing is intentional. We start with the highest use day to day workflows, like constituents, interactions, and addresses, then expand into prospect plans and steps, followed by revenue, transactions, then even management, and later, the platform like capabilities such as reports and Power BI, query, and batch. One important call out is that we are starting with BCO customers with Blackbaud ID implemented, and will share timing for self hosted customers later once readiness is confirmed. With that, I would like to thank you and hand it over to my colleague, Lokesh. Thank you, Deepinder. Hello, everyone. I'm Lokesh, product manager, Blackbaud CRM. I will take you all through the next few slides demonstrating how we are strengthening Blackbaud CRM's fundraising intelligence with AI. So let me start with what we are introducing next with chat for Blackbaud AI, which is currently in the first phase of development. The core focus in this phase is making it much easier and faster to interact with your Blackbaud CRM data using natural language without digging through multiple screens or reports. With AI chat, users will be able to ask questions in plain language and instantly get relevant answers directly from their CRM data. For example, instead of navigating across tabs, the chat experience can provide summarized donor or constituent insights right within the context of a record. A key strength here is context awareness. The chat experience understands where you are in Blackbaud CRM and responds accordingly. So insights are timely and relevant. Ultimately, this is all about saving time, reducing friction, and helping fundraisers and data users focus more on acting on insights rather than searching for information. As we look ahead, this is where Blackbaud AI chat experience starts to become even more valuable. Beyond simply answering questions, we are building towards capabilities that surface deeper insights and proactive recommendations, helping users understand not just what the data says, but what it means. This includes AI generated summaries, trends, and talking points that can help team quickly prepare for donor conversations, meetings, or outreach. We are also exploring guided support such as next best actions or cultivations, ideas, so users receive intelligent suggestions instead of starting from a blank slate. Over time, the chat experience evolves into strategic assistance, bringing together context across relationship, giving history, and interactions to help teams move from insights to actions more confidently and efficiently. Moving ahead, building on that foundation, this is how Blackbaud AI chat experience is designed to deliver real operational value for teams. First and foremost, it is designed to save time for frontline fundraisers and data teams by reducing manual steps and context switching during day to day work. Looking ahead, we envision AI chat supporting actions directly in the flow of work. For example, creating interactions while talking to a supporter, setting up opportunities during forecast discussion, or building prospect or supporter list for outreach campaigns. These experiences lay the groundwork for something bigger, a foundation for future automation and intelligent workflow, where insights seamlessly translates into actions. If we conclude, in short, Blackbaud AI chat experience is about transforming how you interact with your CRM, starting with answering questions, evolving into guided intelligence, and ultimately enabling smarter, faster fundraising workflow. Now let us take you through a quick short demo on how Blackbaud AI chat experience works. Let me start by showing you how easily Blackbaud AI integrates into your everyday fundraising workflows. I'm logged into Blackbaud CRM, and I've opened a constituent record just like you would during your day to day work. You'll notice a spark icon in the top right omnibar. This icon gives you instant access to Blackbaud AI chat without leaving the screen you're already working in. When clicked, the AI chat panel opens and greets me with a simple question. How can I help you today? What's powerful here is that the AI already understands the context of the record I'm viewing. Because I opened a specific constituent, Blackbaud AI immediately provides a constituent summary. This summary is not just copied data. It's an intelligent, readable snapshot created by analyzing giving history, recent interactions, engagement patterns, relationship, and assignment details. Instead of scanning multiple tabs or reports, fundraisers get a quick, meaningful overview of who this constituent is, how they engaged, and where might they need attention. This helps users get oriented in seconds, especially valuable when taking over an account, preparing for a call, or reviewing a donor after some time away. Based on this summary, Blackbaud AI proactively suggests what you may want to do next. These aren't generic prompts. They're tailored to the current constituent's situation, making AI feel like a fundraising assistant, not just a chatbot. Let's explore how the AI helps with donor strategy. I'll click on brainstorm ways to reengage this donor. Once selected, Blackbaud AI produces a detailed, structured response focused on practical fundraising guidance, such as personalized outreach ideas, engagement methods aligned to past behavior, events, and communication suggestions. What's important here is that the recommendations are grounded in the constituent's history. They're actionable, not theoretical. They support fundraisers in thinking strategically, especially when time is limited. For newer fundraisers, this provides guidance. For experienced fundraisers, it acts as a thought partner, prompting ideas they may want to refine or build on. We also believe strongly in human in the loop AI. At the bottom of this response, you'll notice thumbs up and thumbs down icons. These allow users to quickly provide feedback on the usefulness of a response and help improve future AI outputs. In summary, Blackbaud AI chat brings intelligence directly to where fundraisers work, reducing time spent on searching for insights, improving donor understanding, and faster fundraising decisions, as well as enhancing productivity without disrupting workflow. All of this happens inside Blackbaud CRM using the data and context you already rely on. Now I'll pass it over to Chris for the further slides. Thank you very much, Akish. That was great. Now we head into the final of our three sections in today's presentation. We recently released very excitingly a brand new resource center for Blackbaud CRM. This resource center brings together all of the wealth of information across Blackbaud relating to Blackbaud CRM into a single location. What makes this truly exciting for me is that it not only not only does it give customers, the information around recent updates, but it also provides information on plans and progress in all the areas we've touched on today. It will give you the ability to access best practice and guidance from across the Blackbaud ecosystem. And its focus is to empower you, our CRM administrators, advancement operation leaders, and power users to better help support your teams in the transition and adoption of these new technologies and features. But I think the biggest area of change, is the fact that it's going to start we're gonna start to build a brand new Blackbaud University led elearning offering that supports user training and adoption through a series of new training videos and courses. Our what's new channel will provide updates on all the new innovation as it is released. These will take the form of quick summary level updates that fit into a busy schedule. The level up channel will then focus on the wider Blackbaud solution ecosystem and how we are working to help support your organizations each and every day. Explore the resource center today and see how it supports your teams now and as your fundraising strategy continues to grow. And as you can see, that's exactly why we love it so much because it does bring together a wealth of information across all of our Blackbaud, ecosystem. What I will say before I move on from this is that the resource center and the Blackbaud University videos are part of your Blackbaud CRM subscriptions. There's no, separate piece, I realized I said, offering earlier. It's an opportunity for that, but it is actually something we want you to use. So, it will be provided to you as part of your subscription, so that makes it even more exciting. So please do let us know what you think of that and, how we can make that better because it is there to, support you and your needs. So please do help us keep that up to date. Okay. In the last product update, I, gave you a better view of the timelines around, Windows and SQL certification, so I can give you a bit more knowledge on that now. We've been busy working on certifying both Windows and SQL 2022 first, going through the, various revisions, fixing, issues, doing full regression on Blackbaud CRM and, Blackbaud Internet solutions so that they work seamlessly on these releases. Work on the, server 2022 should conclude, in the coming months and will be part of our September service pack. However, we will, obviously update you via the resource center we've just seen and through release notes exactly when this work is complete. As soon as that completes, though, we'll be going straight into the Windows and SQL Server 2025, version. Completing the same regression testing, first of all, you know, making sure the solutions, both Blackbaud CRM and Internet solutions, are working seamlessly, and, you know, just frictionlessly migrate, to that version of SQL Server. But, also, as part of that, we'll be looking about how do we migrate all of the reporting services, reports that you may build, but the Blackbaud ones that we've built and the ones that, obviously, you have built yourselves, all move over to Microsoft's new Power BI reporting service. So that will all be part of that. So we'll continue to keep you updated through that, but, we are almost done with the work we're doing for, SQL 2022. For those customers that, are using Blackbaud Cloud operations, you wanna know is we've been working with you over the last, six months or so to upgrade your environment to service pack 40 or 41. This is a more important milestone for us as these service packs have a lot of security related, resolutions in there. I wanna take them up take this moment to say thank you for partnering with us to get all these updates completed. I'm here to tell you, though, that, our on premise customers should also consider these service packs, and have these applied to your environments as well. Vulnerabilities just don't disappear because you're not Blackbaud hosted, and we wouldn't be pushing service packs, unless they were crucial. Over the last six months, we've been talking about s p forty and forty one. Since then, we've released s p 42 as well. And customers can access that from both the cloud portal to install within your environment. Or if you're on premise, you can download from the black.com download section. And I will say s p 42 release are on the resource center as well. When you get there, you'll be able to see what's included in that release. In the last few slides from me, I want to summarize the different features and innovations, most of which you've seen and we've spoken about today, against those three original time frames I spoke about at the start of this presentation. For Global TRM, we're planning the initial release of our Sky user experience to our hosted customers. That release will continue to evolve throughout this year. We're also extending the duration to which you can choose backups within our cloud, environments as well. So when you're refreshing non project production databases, you'll now be able to update this from a database backup within the last ninety days, as opposed to the current seven days. So quite a quite a, an increase. As we look forward to the rest of this year, as well, obviously, we'll be releasing more of that Sky user experience to our hosted customers throughout this year. And we'll also be launching the preview of Blackbaud AI chat. As I mentioned, the Windows and SQL 2022 certification will go out. And the first of our agents for good for Blackbaud CRM will start rolling out across the various regions. It's gonna start in The US region, and it's going to roll out, as we go, from the second half of this year into early next year. We'll be going into different regions. So that program is very fast moving, and we will come back to you, at the end in in our next product update and give you a full, vision of that agents for good program and the updates and progress made. You've seen today it doesn't stop there. Microsoft and Windows Microsoft and SQL 2025 certifications, more of those virtual teammates, so development agent is where we're starting. Actually, we've got more in the works. So those virtual free teammates and agents are coming to work with CRM. And we'll shift gears in our Sky user experience to start covering all of the admin functions, and into show designer as we go through 2027. So lots and lots going on now. When we shift to Blackbaud Internet solutions, it's a very vital part of the Blackbaud CRM ecosystem. I don't wanna stop and say that. You know, we are committed to Blackbaud Internet solutions. And so we've been working with from customer feedback to improve the accessibility of event bridge folds. We're not stopping there. We've got a team to make improvements. We've also released the ability to copy custom framework parts. In the coming months, you'll see support for the web the dot web p file format, which actually provides a highly compressed and quick to load image format. So we'll be adding that capability to the image libraries within Internet solutions. And you'll be able to create friendly URLs for both temporary and permanent redirects to any website URL as well. A little further away, we're introducing and upgrading Blackbaud Internet solutions to use our new payment checker capabilities, which will bring a better experience for your supporters that's more secure as well as a smoother checkout experience. And this would not be a product update without a road map slide. So here are all the features we talked about, and you can see how these fit together over the next two calendar years in here. What excites me most for Blackbaud CRM is that this journey will enable more innovation. Faster releases of new capabilities is our goal to provide greater value to you and your organizations. And we have more innovation that we are building and planning as we go for our 2026 progress. So I look forward to sharing those with you at our global b b cons and our next product update. So how was that, Allison? Perfect. We look forward to seeing you there. Absolutely. Well, I will hand you back to Allison so he will finish off this presentation. Thank you. Fantastic. Thank you, Chris. I'll take us into the wrap up session with a few key updates that we are excited to share. First, registration for our annual BBDEV days is officially open.
