Transcript for "Personalizing Donor Engagement at Scale: How AI Turns Small Teams Into Powerhouses": Hi, everyone, and welcome to today's session on personalizing donor engagement at School. Aid Wealth we'll talk about how AI is expanding fundraising capacity across the nonprofit space. Before we get started, though, with all of our content, we do need to go over a little bit of housekeeping. Today's audio is broadcast through your computer speakers, so hopefully you're all able to hear me currently. If you encounter any audio or technical issues like freezing slides, usually a quick refresh of your browser is the best way to get it working again. If that does not resolve the issue, I recommend that you leave and log back in. Finally, you could adjust any settings by using the cogwheel at the bottom of the event Search. And perhaps the question we receive most often, you will receive an email with a link to this recording within twenty four hours of today's session so you can watch it on demand. To do some introductions, my name is Student Chochill, and I'm a senior customer success manager on our agents for good team here at Blackbaud. Online been with the company for five years and live in Hanahan, South Carolina Insight outside of Charleston. I've grown up in the space as a second generation Blackbaud employee. And when I'm not at work, I'm either volunteering with my local boy scout troop for you'll find me doing something related to sports or the great outdoors. Well, that's great. Hello there, everybody. This is Carol Billing. Thank you for attending our webinar today. My name is Carol Billing. I'm one of our Analytics strategic consultants here Aid Analytics services at Blackbaud. And I really help our clients understand and utilize our Blackbaud modeling analytics, grateful Student solution, and our Search Direct research software. And I have been at Blackbaud for a long time, twenty three years, and I've been in the nonprofit fundraising space even longer since 1995. I really feel so honored to work with our clients each and every day to really help them identify and engage the best donors and prospects in order to raise more money for their missions. I live here in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota with my wonderful husband, Tom, and I'm a big fan of karaoke and participating in it. So I like to sing, and I enjoy hiking Aid have done a lot of hiking in our beautiful national parks. Okay. So today, Team and I are going to discuss how Blackbaud's Center artificial intelligence development Student, about our that our development agent in ways that helps you identify and engage high potential donors. So with this agenda by both balancing intelligence, trust Aid human judgment in the Success. We will discuss practical ways that helps you identify Aid engage the best mid level prospects for Team, you know, potential emerging major gift opportunities. And then we're gonna discuss some next steps your organization can take as a result of using this type of AI at your nonprofit. Thanks, Kiel. AI is exciting. Oh, looks like we're on the wrong side. There we go. AI is Insight, and technological breakthroughs Online generative AI have the potential to transform the way we all look. But navigating tech frontiers is a serious responsibility, and we're committed to harnessing the new potential of AI innovations in a way that is responsible Aid that ensures that the social impact community benefits from accessible and powerful AI driven capabilities. What that means to us is that we are committed to being convenient, powerful, and responsible because at the end of the day, Blackbaud's AI strategy is about accomplishing one thing, moving your mission forward through the combination of robust data, leading edge AI tools, and the expertise that understands your business challenges and the sensitivity of your relationship with donors. Using Raiser's Edge as an example, here's a full spectrum of how AI supports your organization's fundraising work. It starts with enriched workflows. AI services what matters without you having to dig through reports or build any complex queries. You get the right insights right away. An example of this is prospect insights that service this is your best major donor prospects for you. Next is content Foundation, where AI helps Learn donor information into clear summaries and drafts. That might be a donor history or Billing to get ready for a call or even an outreach draft to follow-up. The goal here is helping you show up for to whatever task you have in front of you. Aid chat is one example here. Then we move into Enrollment assistant. This is an AI working alongside you inside the workflow. Cultivation is System recommends next steps to a human fundraiser, helping you complete tasks and adapt in real time as things change. And finally, the Center team members we're here to talk about today, like our development agent that we'll dig into in just a Student, is where AI can handle routine end to end workflows independently. Think things like donor engagement through agents for good. The point here, though, isn't just to move Center. It's to spend less time on manual steps and more time on judgment, relationships, and strategy, the work that really helps drive mission impact. Now why does all of this matter? Fundraising teams today are being asked to do more with less, and teams are being stretched thin. This pressure to grow mid level programs, identify the next generation of major donors, and maintain the kind of authentic personal relationships that actually move people to give all while your headcount stays flat. The Solutions there. The strategy is there. But the capacity, that's where the things break down. As I'm sure you'd all agree, the challenge here isn't Tuition. It's Academy, and that's exactly what we're here to talk about today. And I think we all can relate to this Search because here's the Inc.. Every fundraiser I've ever talked to has a beautiful vision for their Network. Build real relationships with donors, make every interaction feel personal, stay focused on strategy Inc. the big picture. That's the dream. But then Monday morning hits and suddenly you're pulling reports, cleaning days, chasing down email addresses and telling yourself, I'll follow-up with that Donation lot later. And we all know how that story Center. The gap between the ideal and the reality isn't a motivation problem. It's not a strategy problem. Again, it's a capacity problem, which is exactly what we just talked about. The administrative weight of fundraising is quietly crowding out the human side of it, and that's where automation comes Inc.. Not to replace any relationship, but to give you back the time to actually have them. More time with people and less time in spreadsheets. And the consistency to make sure no donor falls through the cracks just because life got busy. So the question we want to explore today is what does it actually look like to Customer that focus? Before we jump into that answer, though, I do want to introduce you to someone. This is an axolotl, and yes, it is an absolutely adorable animal. They're also incredibly resilient, probably more resilient than most of your CRM, and can even regenerate their own limbs. But here's what even this remarkable creature cannot do. It cannot personalize donor outreach at scale. It cannot manage a mid dev portfolio, and it cannot build that kind of one to one donor journey that we know drives real attention and real growth. And neither can U, Not manually, not alone, not with the team size most of us are having to work with. And that's not a criticism. It's just the reality of what everyone here today is navigating. But here's the good news, and I mean it when I say good news. You don't have to do this alone because the premise that personalization is something a human has to do entirely by hand is the assumption we are here to challenge, and that's exactly where our conversation is heading next. We've all heard it. Personalization doesn't School. And for a long time, that was true because it meant manual effort, static segmentation Aid staff time that transparently nobody has. So trade offs were made. You had to choose scale or Solutions, all while the need for both became more and more prevalent. Then came automation, though traditional automation didn't really solve the problem. It's rule based, reactive, and one directional. It can send emails, but it can't Inc., it can adapt, and it certainly can't build any relationship. So here's the question we should be asking. What if personalization didn't have to be manual in the first place? That's where Center AI comes in, and this is important. It's not just smarter automation. It is fundamentally a different model. Center AI acts with Purchase. It adapts over time, and it proactively surfaces opportunities you didn't even know to look for. We're not talking about doing the same thing faster. We're talking about doing something new entirely, something that we've all been aspiring to do in the fundraising space. Okay. So now that Student has laid the groundwork for Blackbaud's AgenTic AI development agent, before he goes over some of the features and functions of the agent, I wanted to talk about how it helps you unlock more Copilot, not only in terms of how many high potential donors you can engage with. It Solutions can help you do this, but it also helps you surface potential mid level prospects in the process with more timely interactions and provide greater volume at scale without adding development staff. When I work with my analytics consulting clients, the area that seems to lack the most attention is mid level Enrollment. Their modeling scores might help them find the best prospects for this activity, but they don't have the bandwidth to take the next step and provide a customized journey for these constituents. And they recognize that they need to be doing more with the prospects that are not quite sure how to identify them in real time Aid then do something to start the engagement process for these types of opportunities. And the development agent helps you do both. But first, let's start by defining, mid level prospects. Okay. So mid level giving is that key group of constituents that you want to engage with. And, so the 2025 Blackbaud Institute study showed that there was a tremendous fundraising growth and those giving, a thousand dollars or more up 4.7% year over year. And those giving less than a thousand Online 1.1%. And the nonprofit sector is seeing a shift away from smaller dollar Donation, you know, reliance towards these larger gifts of a thousand dollars or more. The Giving USA study in 2025 show showed fewer numbers of donors overall as well. And that puts an increased pressure on mid level retention and growth and donor value. So, and then they also stated mid level donors represented about 35% of annual giving revenue, but only 5% of the donor population. And then a September 2025 Nonprofit times article cited a Team change strategy study Team 59% of mid level donors give annually Aid more than half supported the same nonprofit for around ten years with nearly a third making a bequest. And so there's this strong correlation between that long term sustainable mid dev giving and Learn Giving. And it's indicative of the importance of the relationship building with your mid level pool of prospects and ultimately legacy giving. So all of these, things that I have referenced, by the way, these studies are in the doc section of the Goldcast, Website that you're watching. So look out for that. But the overall potential with this group is paramount to fundraising efforts and Success, and communication really lends itself to sort of these mass direct appeals. So, digital Direct mail, that can that is really kind of what you call your annual giving. And so really mid dev, if you think about how you define that, is really those that are sort of in the in the in between the gap. So either in the gap between those U would assign sort of to the mid the major gift officer, sort of that one on one relationship and that annual giving, mass communications. And so the mid level is often thought of as that forgotten middle. So defining it is an important stuff. And so, if you look at the donor pyramid that you see on this chart, on this slide, it Insights really the area that exists between those who can give smaller gifts and those who can, you know, be managed one on one. Most Nonprofit tend to focus their development operations on those smaller annual fund communications and the major gift assignments. So if we have a desire to do something truly unique and outstanding with this mid level group, we need to first understand and define that, you know, this giving range Aid that gap exists. So, start thinking about Connected efforts. Right? And we wanna embark on with engaging these prospects. So, you know, that issue of finding prospects and moving forward with a more personalized strategy often for times than not really kinda fades into the ether and goes to the back burner because we lack the time and the resources. So if the issue is identifying them, then, you know, take the next steps, you know, to engage with the right prospects at the right time. Well, Blackbaud's AI development agent really helps you do both of these things. Center AI is here to deliver personalized communications that feel human by interacting with these prospects in a manner than tone that really will align with your nonprofit's vision and mission focused on core values and recognizing funding opportunities. Studies show that during philanthropic journeys with Nonprofit, they support mid level donors, if properly cultivated over time, may increase their investment Aid think about it, they might become your future planned Raiser and or principal gift donors. Okay, so the chart we are looking at here is based on a late twenty twenty four in June, June 2024, sorry, and late twenty twenty five Blackbaud Student. So it's in that timeframe. This is going to be updated again after this webinar because, we're getting towards the end of June, but the study that we have here is recent enough that it really shows clarity behind the numbers. First, let me describe what you're looking at here. So on the left hand column of this chart shows various one year giving levels defined as annual giving, really representing a range of a dollar to Team. And then mid dev giving ranging from a thousand to 10,000, major gifts at 10,000 to a 100,000 Aid then principal at a $100,000 or more. And then the next two columns show the percentage of donors Aid dollars each of these various giving levels Complete of within Nonprofit databases on average. And the last column is the median number of years it takes from the first gift given to organizations to giving at these various giving levels. I think there's tremendous amount of information here. So for mid level Giving, at the thousand to 10,000 that's highlighted there, we see that the number of donors comprises 18% of the total number of donors on average in Nonprofit databases, as well as 19% of the total dollars Raiser. And the median number of years it takes for these donors giving at the mid level range from their first gift is six years. So every other giving level on this chart represents it's showing percentage of donors Aid dollars on average that are vastly different. And it is interesting that the percentage of donors Aid dollars for mid dev is relatively the same. I really find that fascinating and reassuring as well. There's sort of this stabilizing effect that mid dev has in terms of database composition. It also highlights the importance of mid dev, and it should not only be on your Aid, but should be a, you know, Team key component of your overall development operations. In the coming slides, Student is gonna go over screenshots from Blackbaud's development agent related to the various components of the setup and functionality. And as a fundraising analytics Enrollment, I work, you know, day in and day out with hundreds of nonprofit customers here at Blackbaud. I want you to pay close attention to not only the automation it affords, but the human centered oversight. Awesome. So what exactly does Center AI actually look like in practice? What you see on your screen, this is it. What you're looking at here is the development agent built right inside Raiser's Edge NXT. No new platforms Online. No separate tool to log Institute lives where your team already works, and I love the framing that the product team chose here because it really captures what this is. It's a hiring process. You're not configuring software. You're onboarding a new team member, one who happens to be available twenty four seven, never loses track of a follow-up, and is laser focused on two things, boosting your engagement with your constituents and automating outreach to mid level prospects. That bandwidth problem we've been talking about, that is what this is built to tackle. The development agent is designed to help nonprofits work smarter by using AI to streamline your fundraising tasks, uncover donor insights, and accelerate content creation. It empowers teams to spend less time on administrative work and more time building meaningful, lasting relationships that drive mission impact. It can even automatically assign constituents based on your open portfolio and the information you give to it. The first step in the hiring process is one of the most fun, I think, and it's where you get to give your agent a name. And you also tell it what name to use for your organization with your Institute. But this is the name your agent will use to introduce itself and sign messages to your Institute. So it's definitely worth thinking about. We recommend playful for clever names as they tend to connect better with donors. Single names usually work well, and you'll want to avoid anything too famous or recognizable that might cause confusion. Again, just make sure to keep the name human and meaningful to your organization. And as you can probably see from this example, kind of very wrong, maybe don't take naming advice from our demo here, but we did wanna make sure you could see this in action. And also U this, though, this very small decision does actually matter as the name shapes how donors experience their first interaction with your organization's Student. And so you want it to feel warm. You want it to feel approachable and on brand. After a name is set up, you'll need help to configure your agent with an email address, but then we get to keep moving. I'm gonna skip the email screen today because that is specific to each organization and requires some IT Wealth, but I did wanna call out that setting up and configuring your agent's email is also Arts of the process. After that naming Aid email is the brand voice and knowledge base section. Aid then this is where things get really interesting. You're essentially teaching your agent here how to sound like a true staff member at your organization. You're able to set the Donation, concise, neutral, Cover verbose, and then feed it actual context about who you are, stories about your mission, events you've hosted, the people that you serve every day. The example here is a great illustration. The agent knows about Billing calm waters days programming, their spring chili contest, and the families they support. So there's not generic outreach here. It's the story that you have told in your voice. And this is an important point worth emphasizing Inc. the agent only knows what you give it. It has access to some constituent data Inc. NXT, of course, and it has access to whatever you provide here, but that's it. It's not going to pull from anywhere Wealth, and it's not going to make things up about your organization. It works entirely within the information parameters you've chosen to share with it. Again, think of this like onboarding a new staff member. The more context you give them on day one, the better they'll represent your organization from the start. The next step is data mappings, and this is where you get to define the internal parameters your agent is going to work with. First up, what does mid dev actually mean for your organization? Every nonprofit defines this differently, so you get to set that own giving range for yourselves here. In this example, we use 1,001 to $10,000, but, again, this is entirely yours to define. You're also mapping out how the agent interacts with your data in Net, the action types it uses, how it marks completed outreach, and how it addresses your constituents. That preferred U piece matters more than it might seem because it's the difference between a message that feels personal and then one that just feels like a standard mail merge. But, honestly, my favorite part of this whole setup is that every single interaction that the agent takes get gets logged as an action in your database. Every outreach, every touch point is all there on the constituent record, just like it would be if a staff member had done it themselves Aid they actually had the time to do so. You know, I'm just gonna inject something here. Thanks, Steven. It's such a great feature. The action steps, my, my consulting colleagues and I meet with clients every day and, you know, we Manager Team meeting with people who manage these prospect development for their Nonprofit. That's part of their job. And and I would say one of the top pain points that we hear is ensuring gift officers consistently entering actions into NXT. So it's really reassuring that the Management agent functionality creates actions so that you can track relationship engagement with donors and prospects. So you know, this feature really can serve as a great example for the human development officers so that everyone is on the same page regarding expectations that really help advance that sort of constituent management and data integrity across the organization. Awesome. Thanks for that extra info, Kayla. The last required step here before your agent is ready to go is setting the engagement Solutions. You know? And this is where you get to define your rules of engagement quite literally. First, you get to specify contract contact frequency, excuse me, where you're setting the approximate cadence for how often your agent is going to reach out. That can be monthly, every six weeks, or every eight weeks. And I do wanna highlight something important here. The timing is personalized for the constituent. You're setting the guardrails, but the agent will work to make some intelligent decisions about when each individual donor does Team from you. Then you AgeFinder what kind of outreach the agent can send, where cultivation messages to build Donation and trust can go out, Management messages can be tied to active initiatives, or even those solicitations or stewardship messages for your existing donors. You can turn each of these on or off based on whatever makes sense for your organization. Once this is saved, your agent is hired, onboarded, and ready to get to work. And then once they were up and running, this is your home base for the agent. The dashboard gives you everything you need at a glance. At the top, you see what needs your attention. In this case, there Arts some inbound messages the agent couldn't handle on its own Aid needs human review before responding to, plus some outbound communications it has planned that are queued up for some human review. This is that human in the loop piece that we feel is so important. The agent is working, but you always have visibility and control. Below that is onboarding progress, which shows you exactly what phase your agent is in and how it's ramping up Aid scaling to your donor base. Remember, you do get to control what it takes on more responsibility, and this is where you see that play out in real time. And at the bottom, a quick performance snapshot, total revenue Raiser, constituents who Response, messages sent, escalation rate, those kind of important Analytics, early signals on whether the agent is gaining traction. When you are ready to go deeper Inc. any of this though, you can click the view full dashboard to open up the full analytics field. Aid I know this is a little School, so I apologize there, but the full dashboard here gives you a rich picture of everything your agent has been doing. You've got a weekly summary right at the top, a plain language snapshot of this week's activity and what's planned for next week. I did grab this screenshot first thing Monday morning, so please excuse the fact that there's, like, no data there. Then you get a full fundraising overview that breaks down total revenue, total donors engaged, and even your average gift size, with the agent actually narrating its own performance in plain English here, which I believe is a true powerful touch. You can also see the breakdown of engagement types, how many messages were for solicitations, for cultivations, for stewardships, or any of those messaging types U selected to hunt. Then constituent engagement metrics that would make any email Marketing happy for also shown. Those open rates, click rates, reply rates, and unsubscribe rates. So this isn't built to just be reporting. It's built to show accountability. You're able to see exactly what this agentic AI is doing for you and your organization, how donors are responding, and where there's opportunity to adjust. What does this actually look like for a donor, though? On the left, you'll see a email thread with myself from our internal environment, Foggy Valley Annual Rescue. Our agent named Dev Net me a who knows Foggy Valley deeply because it does. That's the brand voice you configured doing its job. And on the right, you can see the agent isn't limited just to email. There days an SMS conversation with my colleague School where the Donation Complete texted, tell me about Foggy Valley. And the agent is right there ready to respond. And so you'll see on that same screenshot, there's an entire thread that lives there where the agent is responding. Email and SMS are all managed in one place and all logged in your database. There we go. And here's something I really want to highlight because this addresses one of the most common concerns we hear. What if I don't love what the agent Net? So the very first message Aid in any engagement thread, you do have the ability to view it before it goes out and gives direct feedback. In the example you're seeing here, we left a note that the email should ask more specific questions and be a little less for. And the agent will regenerate based on that input so that the first touch point, which sets the tone for the entire relationship with that donor, is one that you've had your eyes on and shaped before it ever landed in an inbox. After that first message, the agent carries the conversation forward. But, again, every interaction is logged. Everything is visible, and you're always in a position to, of course, correct. One of my favorite things about how this is built is that the development agent doesn't get its own separate siloed experience. It lives in the exact same work center on all your NXT that every other fundraiser on your team uses. The agent has its own portfolio assigned to it just like any other gift officer, and you're able to see last actions, next actions, lifetime Giving, gift history, everything that you would expect to see from a human Fundraiser portfolio. And because it's all living in that single spot, there's no Express reporting to pull. There's no extra System that you need to check. You Card able to just manage the agent the same way you manage the rest of the team. This also means that when leadership asks how the mid level program is performing, you don't have to piece together data from multiple different spots. It's all right there in the same view in the same format. Again, this agent is a team Center, and it's one that expands your capacity without expanding your headcount. Now that we've seen a glimpse into the development agent in action, I do want to take a step back and put it in context because there's an important distinction that's worth making here. Traditional automation has been around for quite a Wealth, and it's super useful. If a donor is opening an email, send email bb. It's rule based, it's predictable, and it does exactly what you tell it to do, nothing more. But that's also its limitation. It's not able to read a room. It can't notice that a donor is starting to disengage and decide to try a different approach. It's not going to ask what should I do next. It just sits there waiting for the next rule to file. Center AI operates completely differently. Instead of if a donor opens email, send email b, think donor is disengaging. Adjust messaging, test timing, and escalate if and when needed. And it's adaptive. It's context aware, and it's acting proactively. It's making judgment calls, not just following instructions. And I know what some of you might be thinking. This sounds like the AI is doing the Fundraising. Aid, honestly, in some days, it is. Aid, truly, that's the point. The development agent can Search insights, prioritize attention, and recommend actions, but it's also able to act. It can send emails and SMS. It can craft the cultivation, stewardship, or solicitation touch points that keep your constituents engaged between those major human moments. That's the sort of thing that makes it agentic. It's not waiting to be told what to do. It's driving these engagements on your behalf. And yet the entire time humans stay in control. Your fundraisers provide the insight and Management, they build the trust, and they own the decisions. The development agent, like any good AI, expands what's possible while your team decides what matters. Remember, this is not about replacing any people, and it's not about replacing any relationships. This is about making sure no relationship falls through the cracks. Now what actually happens after a donor engages? This is where the system really gets to own its key. It starts with AI driven Enrollment, that personalized Response outreach that meets the donor where they are and keeps the conversation going without your team having to manually orchestrate Cover Dev engagement alone isn't enough. The second step is operational intelligence. The agent is able to track down donor intent too, what they're responding to, what signals they're sending, and turn that into something your team can actually act on. All of this leads to the third piece, human follow through. Your fundraisers aren't guessing anymore. They're stepping in with Clarity and Affluence, and they're armed with that context that they need to have the right conversation and deepen relationships at exactly the right moment. This is a loop. Engage, loan, act, and it's continuously running. Because as the saying goes, intelligent systems must own trust just like people, and that trust is built one relevant, timely, meaningful Information at a time. Now with all of that fun information, let's get practical for just a moment Success this is where it gets really tangible for those mid dev and emerging Team, emerging major gift programs specifically. Three things happen when you put this to work. First, AI has the capability to flag donors who have the capacity and the signals that suggest they're ready for a deeper conversation. Your gift officers aren't hunting through portfolios anymore, but the opportunities themselves are surfacing. Second, outreach adapts based on actual Donation behavior, not assumptions Aid not static segments. If someone is engaging differently, the system responds differently. That's the difference between personalization and guesswork. And third, stewardship becomes consistent across every portfolio. No donor is going to slip through because a gift officer is stretched too thin or has a incredibly busy quarter. The AI is able to keep that relationship warm so that the human can step in at the right moment. The result, more donors who feel truly known by your Education, and that feeling is what's going to turn a mid level donor into a major one. Well, thank you so much, Steven. I you know, once the, agent is set up and completed and is running as designed, it's a good idea to have in place some best practices and next steps for those prospects who Purchase as having more engagement with the agent and higher giving capacity. So first of all, as you Raiser review your, you know, agent's fundraising portfolio, review their recent Giving, such as their latest and greatest gifts, to see if they have increased giving, to U since the agent went Online, and then the last and next action steps that are planned for the agent. Also U their prospect insights Analytics, such as major giving likelihood and target gift ranges. All NXT customers have the ability to enable and use this AI driven modeling right within the software within NXT. And each constituent record has a prospect insights tile. So not only do you see these modeling scores, but, you know, you you can review it on the prospect insights tile, and you will also find some other wealth indicators Search as estimated net worth, investments, income, and identified real estate assets. You can then make a determination if further research is warranted. Aid also please note that if you have Prospect Insights Pro, you can easily add the giving likelihood, Learn giving likelihood, target gift range, and potential gift range modeling scores via columns for a quick and easy review of the development agent's portfolio at a glance. PI Pro also has more analytics available, on the tile that you can review. They have things such as model, donor, category, personas, what type of donor they are within each wealth Student, and then more public asset values beyond real estate Search as business and securities Insights, thus allowing you to further hone in on overall wealth and capacity of these assigned prospects. Either way, you can take the next step with prospects of interest Higher in terms of, you know, they're giving to you and or their modeling and wealth indicators Aid engage in prospect research. SpeakingOutBlackbaud has prospect research software and a solution called ResearchPoint. This system allows you to screen Raiser Edge prospects of interest through detailed prospect research databases to obtain publicly available insights on your prospects. Thus furthering, you know, further giving you that helpful pre research qualification tool and it does integrate with Raiser's Edge. And it may also help you determine prospects assigned to the development agent who could be better served by assignment to one of your human fundraisers. So here's a screenshot of Blackbaud's Direct research software, as I mentioned, ResearchPoint. And as I mentioned, this solution does sync summarize public wealth and fill philanthropic research data to Raiser Edge with a click of a button. And Impact, if you query on prospects assigned to the development agent in Raiser's Edge via integration, you can easily import that query from Raiser's Edge and NXT into Search with literally a couple clicks, and you can search that list of prospects as a group via what we call WealthPoint screenings. And WealthPoint is a solution that's within the ResearchPoint software that allows you to search several Direct, you know, research databases, really, again, with a click of a button Team Search to a publicly available Assurance sources Search as detailed real estate properties, private company ownership Aid private company executives, securities insiders Aid their holdings, and philanthropic gifts to other Nonprofit Aid foundation and nonprofit affiliations, what might be called Online Award ships with that, and then any biographical information. And once the screening is completed in Search, then you can easily resync that data, the auto confirmed data anyways, back to Raiser's Edge. And then this allows you to now add those additional segmented at estimated wealth values and major Giving capacity scores via columns again to the development agents portfolio in the work center Aid then exceed. And that's really gonna foster a fast, effective, and efficient process. And then you and your team can make decisions on prospects of interest to potentially assign to a human fundraiser based on actual fact based prospect research. You may also decide that many prospects remain in the development agent's portfolio Aid that's great. So, you know, either way you now have a system that helps tee up portfolio pipeline management for all your fundraisers in your office. So here's a screenshot of how the WealthPoint Direct research data that I just talked about looks once you sync it up from Raiser ResearchPoint to Edge. And it's in the prospect management tile of NXT. So having this data in the constituent record is optional as you can decide whether or not you really wish to sync specific pieces of Wealth days, but it's really nice to have the option for staff to see this information. You can also launch a prospect record in Search right from the prospect management tile. And, and you can update that WealthPoint prospect research results Aid then resync it back to NXT. And you can do that all within a Manager of minutes. Okay. And then once the prospect is assigned to a gift officer, your team can work together to select and create a workflow that uses the tools NXT by using the work center, the prospect management, and the opportunities tiles. And they're all within NXT workflows as well. So NXT is a one stop solution that helps you manage your prospects, sort of starts with your development agent that we've been talking about. Right? And all the way to using that human review. And it really creates an avenue so that you can make the ultimate decision on the right timing for when human to human relationship management is the next course of action. So, you know, you can come up this days an Campus. You can come up with a plan and decide on a workflow that can be implemented throughout your development office. Tweaking that process days new features and functionality come along because they Wealth, and really facilitating a series of actions that will work for the size of your staff and the goals that you have for your organization. NXT is a true end to end solution no matter, you know, where your donors and prospects are in their fill philanthropic journey Inc. terms of that engagement with your organization and investment in your mission. So in my daily meetings with my nonprofit customers, we often review their donor participation, retention, and revenue numbers. I go through that with Team, and then I see an ever changing landscape with increasing fundraising goals. And the big biggest objective for most of my clients, you know, tends to be overall growth Aid total dollars Raiser. And, you know, really, in order to keep up with the social good Center, increasing demands on their Search, because that is Fundraising, and then as well as, right, keeping up with inflation, your need for more funding is expanding Aid really so should your technology. And, so that's what we're really trying to do here. Our mission is to, you know, build software and solutions that truly bring your organization along the way in terms of technological innovation. Center AI is just one of the ways we help you operate in this really bold and ever changing Wealth. And artificial intelligence should help foster and provide aid in terms of ease of process and execution of that Success, really allowing your mission to continue flourishing by meeting those, you know, increased demands now and into the future. So I really like this quote for relevant, I think days than ever before. The future isn't about doing more with, you know, doing more work. Right? It's let's face it. We just we're all too busy Aid we have more work on our already busy place. The future is about doing the right work at the right time for the right donor. You know, Center AI is really here to help you do just that. And so, you know, just want to thank you for your gift of sharing your time with us today. You know, Student and I really hope you found it helpful. So, you know, just thank you so much Aid and I just guess we'll open it up to Q and A. Good Tuition, about, let's see, do most shops identify mass annual level giving donors that have certain indicators of wealth capacity or other engagement days, but not yet giving as an active mid Cover? Are those the mid level prospects you Raiser to? I mean, yes, absolutely. It depends on do they have the characteristics of mid level donors? That's really what you're trying to do is try to identify, you know, mid level prospects that that look like mid level donors. They may be giving smaller gifts or maybe not even giving, but they have that potential. So the modeling really helps you do that, the AI modeling that we use here. Is that answering the question? And I'll just chime Inc.. If if this is referring to the development agent Team, yes, everything Carol said is correct. And what the development agent does is it uses the prospect Insights Pro modeling that Carol was just talking about. Yeah. to identify those constituents in your database who haven't become those middle level donors, but have the capacity and likelihood to give as one. And so that's where it looks as mid level prospects. And then that is a good segue into let's just ask you how does the agent identify itself to donors? Does it say it's AI? And what if someone wants to meet or call? How does this transition to a real person walk? And so that's a great question with a lot of good information I'm able to give. So from the get go, the very first message that the agent's going to send to an assigned constituent is an email. That email is going to say, hi. I am insert agent name. I'm Management AI member for insert organization name, something to that extent. It also, on every single email it sends, Wealth sign off with a signature that in the bottom days powered by Blackbaud Blackbaud AI. That both of those pieces are there because of our commitment to transparency, across the board with our AI Aid so that your Institute, you get that same level of transparency as well. If someone wants to meet or call with a human fundraiser rather than speak to your development agent, they just need to tell the agent that, and the agent will flag that. When I was going through the screenshots, there were those review questions the development agent can't answer section. The kind of questions that will end up there do include, hey. I need to speak to a U, or I'd like to set up a call for something like that so that the human manager of the development agent can go in and make sure that gets transitioned to the right person. How that happens is there's a button that says assigned to a person, and the manager is able to assign it to whatever human fundraiser is Guided. And that human fundraiser gets a notification on that little red bell icon Inc. the top right of all the NXT so that the next time they come in, they know this is happening. And, again, remember, every conversation is logged in the action logs for that constituent that the development agent has so the human fundraiser is very easily able to go and and get caught up to speed on where things are so that they're not going into that conversation Online, and they can set up that phone call or that meeting or anything like that. Aid, Kale, I think this one might be more of your speed. Yeah. Sorry. I was just answering another question, that somebody days asking me internally here that someone asked earlier. So what are the research sources for the basic prospect insights info displayed in RE? So it is a predictive AI model. It's gonna obviously U some of your giving history days. And when I say giving history, it's looking at RFM, right? Recency, frequency, monetary. So it uses some of those patterns. A big thing that it looks for is velocity. So they've increased their giving recently compared to their average giving. So it's looking at some of that data, but it's obviously accessing all of the external data that Blackbaud has available. And when I say external external from your your particular database, you know, within NXT. So, it's gonna access that prospect research data. It's also gonna it's going to be accessing, consumer marketing data and demographic data and donor data, all public information to build these models. So it's using a combination of some of those giving patterns that you have Inc. NXT for your specific NXT database along with all this external data. And it is a, prescriptive model, and it's surfacing up prospects. So if there are changes in those sources, so your internal giving history or the data sources that we're using that are coming into the model that are not in your database that are part of that AI piece of it. So it's it's as things change, their scores may change and they may surface up. So that's how Direct insights is identifying those individuals. Custom modeling does it differently because it's built, you know, from the ground up. So there's that. But with prospect insights, it is AI based. It's changing. It's ever changing, and, it's using all those types of data sources. I hope that's helpful. That's a good question, Search, about Wealthpoint. It is US. It is a US based, data source. So when you screen people and you're in Research Point and you screen them, it is accessing houses in the 50 United Student. And it's also gonna be needing a valid US address. So if you have a PO box, sometimes that can be very problematic. It needs or business address. I mean, you really want it to be a home address when you are searching prospects in WealthPoint. I don't know, Student, if you want to look at that question from Campus. Is Student there? I apologize. I don't know if he's because I I don't know. There Steven is back now, I think. Been having some computer issues, I know, this morning. Always fun. Hi, everybody. I am Elaine Montgomery. I'm a solutions consultant here at Blackbaud, and I have had the privilege of talking to lots of words about the agent. So I'm gonna jump in for Steven. Thank you. Sure. Yeah. So opt Arts client customers or or prospects can opt out just from agent communications. We've seen a really small, percentage of app dev so for. And, when they're requested to be removed from the System, as a former fundraiser, I actually would call them and, you know, I would have loved to have this on my team, honestly. But, you know, talk through what what do you not like about AI, and just have that as a almost a touch point with a donor. Any other Solutions, miss Raiser? Yeah. I think that, how do we look at AI and the balance of what a development professional is doing? I think that's a a great conversation to be had and to continue to be having. We have them here all the time here at Blackbaud. So I love that you're asking that and thinking about Team, and, I think that's avail thoughts on that, actually. I'll I'll. tell you. I like the way Student worded it earlier where he said, you know, think of this as another person on your team. It's it's it's, you know, you're you're onboarding a new employee, and they're providing assistance to try and, you know, find the best prospects as well as engage with them. And if you really think about it in that in those Team, so it's not replacing people. It's actually enhancing the capability that you have. I think that's the bottom line. When I'm using AI in my job, it's not gonna replace me and the conversations that I have with my customers and helping them strategize and think about segmenting and using their data with analytics. It's enhancing it. It's enhancing their conversation. I'm I'm I'm finding other insights or maybe other thoughts on this on topics. Sometimes when I'm working with my customers, I'm like looking on online right Award, trying to find some AI capability Team that will answer their questions for them. And I've actually had it happen quite a bit recently. It's kind of the same thing with the development agent. It's Center, which is helpful, so you don't have to go out and try and figure out who you should engage with it. It does it for you when you set those parameters, the tone of voice, that kind of thing. So, there's a lot of human oversight that can be, you know, thought through with this type of Express for animal. You have a lot of the control. It's not gonna replace people. It's gonna enhance the process that you have, and it's really gonna provide another almost like another new employee that you're gonna onboard that's gonna really, you know, engage with prospects and surface people up. That that's what I'm excited for is all the individuals that are gonna move into mid level giving potentially over time as they engage Aid that the development agent is, you know, sort of that back and forth and and and being able to see the individuals that really have more capacity that I talked about later on in the in the Foundation, that you would wanna take those next steps. Right? So I'm really I'm really excited about Team. Like, this next. question. Yeah. Yeah. U are the you are the wow factor, not the agent, not the AI. Right. Absolutely. Ray, can you help me answer that question? Absolutely. We're doing a whole, village Team. But the answer is, there yeah. The robot's got Steven. The answer is we're moving into the early adopters program in September for Canada for this. We are already, having Luminate discussions about, moving into the EAP for which did I say EAP twice? Early adopters program if I if I U too many, letters there. Sorry. So that like I said, that'll be officially launching in September, but we're already engaging with our Canadian, customers who may be interested in being part of and participating in that. Aid, Ryan, I will send you the contact information of the person who is, is, working on that for us. And, let me share this one. Hi, Aid, that without Steven, we don't have anyone who can answer this question very well. Is that fair to say, Elaine? Yeah. No. I can try. I can. take a stab. I, from my experience, it's a it's a mix, Brian. The agent is working proactively reaching out, and then depending on the, you know, responses, they're gonna the agent responds very timely just as a human would, responding to that donor outreach. I also see kind of a a question in the q and a that goes along with this from Julie. If the donor asked the agent a question, how does the agent know the answer? If it doesn't know the answer, it's gonna tee it back up to a U, but you do have the opportunity to share all kinds of information with the agent to help it tailor the messaging about your mission, about your goals, about your, your org days. So, hopefully, I I did a two for one there. Yep. This is a great one too. Courtney, would there be a way to have this agent be a halfway agent? I've had lots of conversations with organizations that that are asking about this. So Blackbaud does have other AI tools Online the Foundation assistant. Student briefly touched on that. That does that is available to, to discuss, but the agent that we're talking about today will proactively engage with on a one to one basis with those donors that are not receiving that today. Well, and it does have an area in there that has that will highlight ones where, responses where it needs human attention to, which I think is good. Yeah. What are. what are the emails where there's the agent is Online, okay. These you know, we we need a human Center Net to intervene right to intervene right now. So Net me see if there's other questions. There's several Solutions in here. I've answered that question five or six times in the chat in the in the q and a. So if you don't mind scrolling down to get to those just so, we can maybe get to some of these other ones before we this one has Aid of been partially answered, but if you guys wanna add any additional color to Team. I don't think, Learn, you got a chance to chime in on this, and you may have another perspective on it. Sure. I mean, I I I think everybody days on their own spectrum of comfortability with AI, if that's a word. And I think each each group is going to react differently, which is why I love how Blackbaud has recommended to onboard your agent in a very thoughtful, and, controlled way so that you can trust the agent just as your community starts to trust the agent as well. So that that's what I I found. Thank you. And we have rolled right up to the eleventh, hour here. So I think we're Giving, to the end, and there's quite a few questions left. And we're gonna, follow-up with you on answers for those. I do wanna say for those of you who have additional, like, product specific questions, we do do a monthly product tour of this, and there will be a link in the email that you receive tomorrow that has, the resources we've mentioned, a copy of the slides that they used today, the on demand link, recording of today's Foundation, and included in that will be a link to the next product tour. So today, we we talked about these things a little more, like, philosophically within the context of, U know, day to day fundraising Activity, the product tour that we do of this, it days a little more into the nuts and bolts of, like, how do these things actually Network, how do you actually do it. So that link will be in there as well, and you can sign up for that. That's only about a thirty minute presentation, and there's an on demand version you can watch as well. So Team being said, I wanna maybe wrap us up now. I know, that, sorry that Steven got knocked out. We had a little technical difficulty there, but we, I think Cover nicely. Carol, thank you so much for the presentation. This was really fantastic information. Elaine, thank you for jumping in and pitch hitting for us. I really appreciate it Management some of the questions that I'm not smart enough to be able to answer. And, I wanna thank all of you for your time today. I really appreciate it. And, you can respond to that email tomorrow as well if you have any additional questions, and, someone will get back to you from that as well. So thanks so much, and have a great rest of your day. Thank you.
