Transcript for "Advancement in Action: Supporting Fundraisers to Drive Results with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®":
Hello, everyone, and thank you so much for joining us today. My name is Alexis, and I am part of our marketing team here at Blackbaud. And I wanna be the first to say welcome to today's webinar, advancement in action, supporting fundraisers to drive results with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT. We're so excited for what we've got for you today. But before we dive in, I just wanna run through a few housekeeping items as everyone gets settled. First off, you'll see a few widgets up in the top right hand side of your screen. You should be seeing chat, docs, and q and a. We'll be dropping some information in the chat throughout today's presentation. Also, please take a look at the documents we have for you in our docs section. We've got a lot of great info there. And then we do have a q and a as well. Please utilize that. We want to answer your questions, and we want to engage with you during this event today. So any questions you have throughout the presentation, pre please drop them there. We do have some time held for questions at the end, but we will answer questions throughout as we can. In addition, if you have any issues with your sound not working, slides freezing, maybe your screen has seized up, go ahead and try refreshing your browser. That typically does the trick. But if you find that isn't working, isn't helping, just go ahead and drop your question in the q and a, and I will try to troubleshoot for you as best as I can. So I won't take up any more of our speakers' time. So, Kim and Marty, if you wanna go ahead and introduce yourselves, we can get Hello, everyone. My name is Kim Pajcic. I am a. consultant here at Blackbaud. I've been with Blackbaud for eight years and spent most of my time leaning training for our customers on Blackbaud products. Before I came to Blackbaud, I was in the nonprofit space. Most recent role was a program director for a pediatric cancer foundation, and that was a pretty small shop, so I wore a lot of hats there. Know how important it is to have a solution that works for you, and I'm excited to show that for you, with razors at GenexT today. Thanks, Kim. And I'm Marty Singleton. I'm a consultant here at Blackbaud. Been with Blackbaud for about seven years. I focus exclusively on higher education, and I cover many of our software solutions, including Raiser's Edge that we're gonna be talking about today. Prior to working for Blackbaud, I was a director of finance and accounting at a small college. I partner with Blackbaud using Financial Edge NXT. And after arriving at Blackbaud, I went back to the college. We showed them Raiser's Edge. They've since implemented Raiser's Edge. In that role, I worked really closely with our director of institutional advancement, our director of alumni development, and our director of financial aid on all things scholarships, endowed funds, donor reporting, donor reconciliation, and many things like that. And my goal in my capacity, I wore a lot of hats just like Kim in her small shop. My goal was to work smarter and not harder. And we've all found that, with software, software, if you get the right software and you leverage that software, you can streamline workflows and really, essentially, add to your staff capacity with that software. So with that, I'll turn it back over to Kim, and we're gonna jump in. And I see Alexis is now there. Feel free to share where you are coming from. I am in Milwaukee. Very hot here today, but we're making it through. So a little bit of our agenda for the day. We're gonna get started by talking about tools in Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT that will be helpful for advancement teams. We'll move into our product tour, talk about results other organizations are seeing with our solutions, and then we'll end with some questions. But if you do have questions at any time, feel free to share those over in the q and a. Bernie will be moderating those as we move our way through. So one of the things I appreciate most about working with colleges and universities is the unique role that that advancement teams are playing in an institution success. So enrollment might be driving tuition revenue, but philanthropy helps shapes our institution's future. So whether it's funding scholarships, supporting research, enhancing the student experience, or enabling capital projects, our advancement teams are helping make those opportunities possible every day and at the same time the work of fundraising has become increasingly complex. Donors are more informed than ever. They support more causes. They expect more personalized engagement. And while the amount of data available to us continues to grow, the amount of time we have as fundraisers has not. Right? So These challenges are reflected throughout the fundraising landscape and are part of why advancement teams are looking for, like Marty said, ways to work smarter. That's really where Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT comes in. Raiser's Edge NXT is a fundraising and advancement platform built specifically for organizations like yours. Brings together donor management, fundraising operations, prospect research, analytics, reporting, AI powered insights all into a single connected experience designed to help advancement teams raise more and work more strategically. So I often think about fundraisers starting their day needing to answer kind of three big picture questions. Who should I focus on? What should I do next? And how do I know if I'm making progress? The goal of Raiser's Edge NXT is to help answer those questions every day by surfacing the right information, highlighting the right opportunities, and helping fundraisers stay focused on the relationships that matter most. So rather than just being a place to store donor data, it's designed to help turn information into action. So throughout today's session, we're gonna look at how that comes to life through fundraiser focused dashboards, activity and task management tools, intelligent insights, and practical workflows that can help your team move from strategy to action and then ultimately strengthen those donor relationships. But before we jump into the product tour itself, I wanna take a step back and talk about how the fundraising landscape is continuing to evolve and why these capabilities matter now more than ever. So fundraising today looks different than it did even just a few years ago, right? Today's donors are more informed, they have access to information instantly, they're supporting more organizations than previous generations, and they're expecting a level of personalization that can be difficult to deliver at scale. So building relationships remains critical, but donor expectations continue to to rise. And at the same time, technology is changing, right? We're seeing innovations in artificial intelligence, analytics, digital engagement that just weren't available to most advancement teams even a few years ago. So opportunity is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming with everything else on your plate. And our work is changing too. Many advancement teams we're seeing are managing larger portfolios, navigating staffing challenges, and being asked to demonstrate greater impacts with limited resources. And that's where technology should help. By helping fundraisers spend less time searching for information, more time engaging with donors. The Raiser's Edge NXT helps teams focus on the opportunities that matter most. So let's talk about that. I think a poll is coming up on screen for you of what does prospect research look like for your organization. I was curious what that might be. I know a couple different things coming up here, couple votes coming up there. We have a dedicated prospect researcher for a few of us and then other side of the spectrum manually researching each donor one by one. Yeah. So a bit of a spread, and that's pretty common, yeah, depending on different types of organizations. Thank you. So whether you have that dedicated prospect researcher or it's you in a Google, right, trying to find this information coming through LinkedIns, it can still be difficult to identify the right prospects, prioritize the right opportunities, and spend your limited time where it's going to have the greatest impact. So when we help organizations solve for those challenges, that's where we're starting to see those fundraising outcomes. So I've got a few examples up here on screen. First up is better portfolios. So advancement teams using Blackbaud's predictive analytics and prospect intelligence in Raiser's Engine XT are able to identify more high value prospects and get them into the hands of fundraisers faster. So your result then, of course, is a stronger pipeline and more qualified prospects being actively managed. Second, more major gifts. We always want those, right, when fundraisers are spending time on the right prospects and engaging them earlier in the cultivation process, institutions are seeing growth in larger gifts and then stronger fundraising outcomes over time. Next up there is helping donors reach their full giving potential. One of the biggest missed opportunities we see is not just identifying who can give. It looks like a lot of us do have dedicated prospect researchers, but understanding how much they might be capable of giving and when they might be ready for a deeper conversation. So better insights help us have those right conversations, again, at the right time. Then time, finally gets time savings. By embedding all of that intelligence directly into our workflows, we're spending less time searching for opportunities, more time acting on them, just like Alexis said in the chat, information to action. So every tool we'll demonstrate today was thoughtfully designed to help advancement teams uncover more opportunity, build stronger donor relationships, and ultimately raise more support. So before we move into the product tour, I do wanna go ahead and zoom out here, look at a bigger picture. One of the things we hear most often from advancement teams is that fundraising doesn't happen in silos. Like I said, I came from a small shop, wear a lot of hats there. A successful major gift doesn't begin and end with one single gift officer. It starts with clean donor data. It will rely on that prospect research and analytics. It involves donor engagement, marketing, operations plays an important role in gift processing, stewarding donors, right, and leadership is needing visibility into outcomes. IT is needing confidence the platform is secure and integrated with a broader campus ecosystem. So Raiser's Edge NXT isn't just helping individual fundraisers become more effective. It is, we'll see that. But it's also helping advancement organizations all operate as one connected data driven team. And with Murray's higher ed background, I did wanna pull him in a bit here and see if he can talk to us a bit about more of that connected campus experience. Absolutely. So it's really critical when we're talking about data flow to get out of spreadsheets and have the software do the heavy lifting. You You know, if I could put another poll up there quickly, I would, but I'm just gonna throw this question out to you right now. Imagine your work today if Microsoft had some kind of malware and you lost all of your Excel spreadsheets. Not only did would you lose the capability of accessing the spreadsheets, but you would lose all the data that you've ever had in spreadsheets. Imagine the panic that would go through your organization. That's because so many higher education institutions out there rely on spreadsheets to kinda hold all the information in various different places that the software is not doing for you. And if you have purpose built software that Blackbaud provides, we have, a connected campus option for you. From the fundraising piece to Raiser's Edge, the data flows in, all the gift data into Financial Edge automatically so you can, keep track of all that, all of your restricted fund accounting, breeze through your audits, have all reports available for all key stakeholders, not only in the fundraising area and for your donors, but also, when we're making business decisions and things of that nature. We've also got award management solutions that allow you to process and, track all of your scholarships, awards, and recipients. We also have a new partner called, Student First. So it's a comprehensive SIS, solution for your campus. So with Blackbaud, you have the opportunity to have that complete connected system and get out of spreadsheet and let the software do the heavy lifting. Back to you, Kim. Thanks, Martie. Yeah. I know in my last organization, we did a lot of that pushing, pulling, moving data from a lot of different platforms. With that connected campus experience, we're all working from one view. Right? All from one view, we feel more confident in the data we've got in our system. And I did have one more official poll for us. I know we had an informal one there for Marty. Thank you. I was curious, where our organization is on AI adoption and what that is looking like for us. See if we got any votes coming in. Getting started, no formal processes, but we are using the tools. Yeah. Thank you. And that's usually what I've been hearing. Most organizations were not asking, you know, are we using it? Yes or no. We're using it. We've got questions though around how we're going to use it. How are we gonna use it safely, effectively, and in ways that are creating real value for our teams? So I wanna talk about, about a bit more of AI here at Blackbaud. Nice line will come over. There we go. So I've got a spectrum of kind of the AI options and and workflows and work streams here at Blackbaud. So starting on the one end, very human led. AI AI is helping us surface insights. So just a few, we're going to get to our product tour. We are going to take a look at our prospect insights that will analyze donor information and philanthropic indicators to help us identify opportunities and prospects already in our database. Next, AI is helping with content generation. So, we might have, I know some of us said we've been working with those tools a bit, might be familiar with generating summaries and so forth, drafts of communications, and we can do that as well right within Raiser's Edge NXT. So it can help us just prepare more efficiently, but still maintaining that personal human centered approach to donor engagement. Moving down the spectrum here, AI becomes an intelligent assistant for us. And we'll see this as well working alongside us as fundraisers within our normal workflows instead of just providing information, answering questions, it can recommend next steps, help us prioritize activities and make it easier to turn those insights into action. And then ultimately, final end of the spectrum here, moving toward AI that can support more complete workflows through Blackbaud's agents for good. So these agents are designed to help teams scale stewardship and engagement. So allowing staff like us, fundraisers, to focus our time on those highest value relationship building activities. So as we move into the product tour here, you'll see several examples of AI embedded directly into the fundraiser experience. We'll look at how it's helped answering those questions I mentioned when we got started. It was who should I focus on, what should I do next, and how do I know if I'm making progress. Let's take a look at how Resource Engine XT helps us answer those questions. So I'm gonna switch out of our slides here and click on over so we can see our Razer's Edge NXT. That should be coming up here. Alright, I think that's loading. So, I wanna start in Razer's Edge NXT where most advancement teams are starting their day, deciding how and where to focus our time. So in Raiser's Edge NXT, the work center does that for us. Instead of searching through reports, all the spreadsheets like Marty talked about, donor records, the work center is your full spectrum portfolio management tool and it surfaces actual insights and prioritize for you right away. So just a little bit of what we're taking a look at here, if you haven't seen Razer's Edge NXT before, this is the product. So I'm in my Razer's Edge NXT and we've got our navigation menu over on this left hand side. And, of course, we've got the ability to add new records into the system, and then this is how we'll move throughout the product. So if you caught my introduction earlier, I was a, instructor trainer here on this product for many years, so I definitely could spend a lot of time going through each of these features and functionality. And we do actually have instructor led trainings that will do that, when you're live in the product. I wanted to focus on kind of the biggest, most impactful pieces for our session today, particularly through the lens of fundraising. So I'm in our portfolio section here of the navigation menu, and then we're looking at the work center. So within this work center, again, central hub for those of us who do manage a portfolio. And right up at the top, as you can see, we have this needs attention section. So rather than expecting fundraisers to remember every detail of all the different relationships they manage with donors, Raisers Engine XT proactively identifies reasons for you to engage. So this is highlighting donors that this gift officer works with. I'm in a work center for a colleague by the name of Julia here, may want to get in touch with based on what we call intelligent tags. So maybe the donor gave recently, they attended an event with us, they haven't been contacted recently, they have updated Wealth or, analytics, it's surfacing that for you and they're automatically applying to any record in our system. So the day you go live with Razer's Edge NXT, you can have your new solution immediately start doing some heavy lifting for you by surfacing those donors, industry best practice recommends you should prioritize. So I've got some donors here. They've got, well, some overdue pledges. We gotta look at that. Right? We've got some at risk donors. I've got some under giving prospects, some top prospects. Excellent. I did want to just pop on open a list of all the different full spectrum here of the Intelligent Tags that will be surfaced for you again automatically. Highlighting these constituents, reasons we should probably be getting in touch. Right? They've registered for an event, their reunion year is this year based on those milestone, class year, anniversaries. We should probably get in touch based on this information. Excuse me. If I go back over to the work center, Brad, for example, again, under giving top prospects. Let's go ahead and talk to them. So I can click through here. When I was in training, I always said anything in blue is clickable. So throughout the product tour, you're going to see a lot of blue here. Lots of blue. That means you can click. In this case, it's getting more information. What's our recommendation? Right? How do we turn that information into action? It's got some recommendations for us and we can even log an action based on that from here or I can add an action really throughout the system as well. We do really want that single source of truth. Right? We want to be able to see any communications, touch points, all of that information on our donors in one central location. So I should talk to Brad. Right? I would click this add action button here, and maybe I don't have time to get to this today. Maybe I'm gonna give Brat a call, you know, tomorrow. I can go ahead and set that up here as an action. So any of those communications, I can go ahead and log here in Razer's engine XT. I work with Outlook here at Blackbaud so I can send this over to my Outlook calendar, set a calendar appointment for the meeting or call with the donor. If you work with Gmail, same thing. You can push this over to your Google Calendar. And what I also like too is that you could actually see this over in your inbox as well. So if I am emailing with Brad, that's the communication method they prefer, I can go ahead and log those emails with a click of a button rather than having to do some copying pasting of the email chain back here into the system. We've got those integrations and applications available for, again, Outlook or Gmail. So I can do that here, up on my browser. I'm working from my computer, of course, but I can also do that from my phone. So if you are out meeting with a donor, there's no need to wait until you get back to a computer to log all those meeting notes. So anywhere you can access, an Internet browser, right, if you can get to blackboard.com, phone, tablet, whatever it might be, you can go to a browser and key in blackbaud.com. You can sign on into our database and log the call. So, what I really like is the voice to text function then. So if I finish up a meeting with a donor, I go ahead and tap on my phone, I voice to text, do my brain dump of everything we talked about, any action items, follow-up, dump all that in, tap the save button, and then that's saved. No special application or features required, just a browser. We'll go ahead and work for that. So with those actions in mind, I'm gonna close on out here. If I am managing a, again, portfolio of donors, I can certainly use this needs attention section to surface again some folks I might need to get in touch with. Could also head over to this actions tab, really great place for gift officers to see all those upcoming communications that have been scheduled But also quite helpful for really any other user of the system. So for those of us that may not have a direct, you know, portfolio in the true sense here, I might not be managing directly donor relationships, but I am still needing the ability to track my calls, emails, all those other touch points. I can still use this work center and utilize that actions tab to keep track of all of those communications. But if I am managing that portfolio, wanted to show here we've got the portfolio tab and this would be a listing of all the donors that are assigned to you. So Julia here has got 150, relationships that she is managing, and I'm able to see that information. So if you're relating to Marty, as you were saying, all that spreadsheet work looks kinda like a spreadsheet. Right? I've got my rows and columns of information. I've got a lot more functionality here than just a spreadsheet. Anything blue is clickable was always my line in training. So blue things I can click on to drill into and see more information. So I've got drill down capability to open up and find more data and I can customize this too. So up at the top, I can change around what columns of information I'm seeing about my portfolio of donors. It's just a check or an uncheck of a box to customize those columns. I could even search for somebody, add some filters here if I needed to see certain folks. I've got a pretty large portfolio, I'm just looking for a few in particular, I could do that too. So maybe of those, you know, intelligent tags, I'll click that filter. There's a ton of options here. I've got kind of a, you know, busier week. Maybe I just want to find, of the one fifty, who's donated recently? Maybe I'll just, you know, make a couple thank you calls after I wrap up my lunch. So I'll go ahead and apply that filter. That brings me down to two here, and I'm able to see that. And head of household filters within the work center. Yeah. So we put kind of our greatest hits. I call them filters up at the top here, Shannon, the most frequently used. You can add more. There are a ton. If I click this filter icon, you've got a ton of filtering options including the household, if you did want to restrict on that. Absolutely. Giving, location, different wealth information, or any fields your organization's customized. Got tons of room to make this specific to your institution in particular. Yeah. Great question. And I can click through here too. So if I did want to see more information about Robert, click their name. Pop on open here, and this is our constituent record. So from my constituent record, of course, that is our central hub for seeing any and all information we have tracked at our organization about this donor, alum, prospect, whoever they might be. You might be able to tell by my browser if you can see. I'm a bit of a tab person, so I can open up records in new tabs. I can have multiple tabs open, whatever I might need to see here. We'll take a quick peek at a constituent record. So I've got Robert Hernandez opened up here. I'm seeing some really nice high level information about this donor and then we call them tiles, grouping all the data we've tracked. So tons of space for us to, of course, be tracking information on our donors. I can see historical giving. Now I saw this in the work center, of course, too, but if I need to see a little bit more, the record, of course, will let me do that. It's got a fabulous lifetime giving. We love it. I can see full listing of their giving history, their contact information, how will I get in touch, and as you can see that's blue, that's clickable. I can, click through to that as well, their history with our institution, other schools they may have attended, it all lives here, those actions all in one place. Lots more too, as we take a look at that. Come back over to portfolio. Able to filter by designation? Yes. Absolutely. Lots of filters. So if I wanted to filter based on giving, I know they may look basic. There's a lot more here. So maybe I want to filter based on a tonal, for example. And I can add a lot of caveats to that if that's what you're looking for, Shannon. So I wanna find those that gave a total of, you know, dollars 10,000 or more, whatever it is, but during a specific date range. Only of certain types of gifts. Don't show me stock in here. Or, like you said, certain designations. Include this. Don't do that. You can get really picky choosy. Yeah. So I picked total giving, but all of these options are available on the total, the any gift, the first, latest, greatest. You can really drill into it. Yeah. They're kind of behind the scenes there. Very good. Yeah. Keep those questions coming if you've got them. So from, again, this work center, if I think based on what I'm looking at, based on what I click through, I need to talk to somebody, I sure can too. You've got the option to, log actions from here, drill into the record as well. And, yep, there also is that gift list option too. So if I do want to build out a custom list, I'm thinking fundraisers today, right? I'm going to manage my portfolio but what if I don't manage a portfolio? Donors, absolutely. You can build out a list of constituents, we call them. You know, show me any constituent who gave a gift of x amount to this specific designation, list will load for you. Or if I really need to get particular on not the donors themselves, the gifts themselves, we can do that too. Like, what are you saying in the chat? We can also build out lists of gifts throughout the product. Yeah. So from here, we are taking a look, of course, at that portfolio, how are we gonna prioritize our day, surfacing that insight for us, but we also want to focus on the right prospects. Right? Those may not be in our portfolio just yet. I'm going to click over back here in my navigation menu, just zip some things up a bit. We're still working with portfolios, but I'm going to click on over to our Prospect Insights. So as this tool is loading here, for a lot of us, I know in our polls I saw a few of us were saying, yes, I do have a dedicated prospect researcher or researchers. I saw some others who were saying not so much. We're doing some manual research. So, depending on where you're falling in that spectrum, often prospect research and identification does depend on that manual research or my last organization was a lot of internal knowledge, institutional knowledge waiting on folks, right, at our organization that had been there for a while. Or we might even be waiting for donors to self identify and let us know. Right? With Prospect Insights, we have the opportunity to be much more proactive. Prospect Insights is combining philanthropic indicators, wealth information, and predictive analytics to help surface individuals who may have significant giving potential. So, more importantly, we're not just identifying people with wealth. Yes, that's important, right? But we're looking for individuals who do have capacity and likelihood to support us. So particularly in higher ed where long term pipeline development is critical, this helps us identify those emerging prospects years before they might traditionally enter a major gift portfolio. So then my kind of big picture questions, right, who should I focus on? This is helping us answer that. So just like in the WorkCentre, we have that Needs Attention section right up at the top here. I can see I have some new top prospects, 18 of them. We should probably look at those, right? Some initially qualified prospects, I've got some undergiving prospects, and then I do have 17 major giving prospects assigned to non active fundraisers, meaning we had some staff turnover. That fundraiser is no longer with us, but they're still managing some folks. We should, again, kind of maybe do some assignments shuffling of those portfolios. My favorite phrase, blue is clickable. Right? There's a ton for me to click on and drill into if I do need to do that. So I can go ahead and click, I really like to look at the undergiving, so let's click that blue link here. Review the 175 undergiving prospects and I've got this list coming up. So list is showing for me on this left hand side of any of those, again, under giving. They are giving to us but not at that full capacity. And this is I'll just mention everything we're seeing here is a standard feature. So every organization with Razer's Edge NXT will see prospect insights, will see this wealth screening analytics. So I've got Sheila right away here up on my screen. Let's take a look at Sheila. I've got this AI analysis of all the information that it's found. If you can read that font there, hopefully it's not too small. Sheila has a, pretty good, targeted gift range here. They've donated to us previously. We might wanna start working with Sheila though a bit more. They're under giving. What I really like, again, I have that training background, is that we've got information for you as well. So what makes somebody, you know, this excellent plan giving likelihood? I love it, but what does that mean? Throughout the product, you'll see these little eyes for information, and that pops open our in product help. So you can access that, you know, what does it mean to be a excellent friend giving likelihood? I love it, but what does that mean? How does that break down? Where is this data calculated? What is this pulling from? I'll just answer that for you as you click on those i's. We'll just close out of that. But the in product help is always available. So if I'm ever curious what I'm seeing, right, I'm learning a new product here, I can click this question mark that's always in the upper right hand corner and it'll always give me information about whatever page or feature I'm on. So I'm on undergiving prospects. What is undergiving? Right, it's defining that. Alright, they identified as likely to give a gift of at least $10,000 in the next twelve months. Excellent. So I'll close that out, but that's always available too. Just quickly taking a look here. Again, I've got that analysis. I can also see a breakdown of that with these tabs up at the crop up at the top here. Excuse me. I've got the wealth tab that shows me a breakdown of that wealth, breakdown of their giving both, of course, to our organization and then to others. So I can see, you know, what type of institutions are they supporting, what is their typical gift size, maybe get some insight there, as well as the prospect management information we've recorded and biographical information, tracked here too. So seeing all that information, right, we're surfacing here which donors, which constituents we might want to focus on. So even when we do know what to focus on, we're often still spending significant time gathering information and then preparing for conversations. So I'm gonna show next here, I'm gonna click our sparkle up at the top. This is Chat for Blackboard AI and this is our generative AI powered assistant built directly here in Razer's Edge NXT, helping us work faster, smarter by giving us instant responses to questions and prompts. And based on the poll around kind of what are we doing with AI, you might have worked with, it seemed like, some AI tools before, maybe ask some questions. But with chat for Blackbaud AI, this is built on over forty years of best practice research here at Blackbaud. We have the world's largest philanthropic data set and it's our native AI chat right here in Razer's NGINX team. So it's taking all of that industry best practice data and marrying that with your specific information securely, right, because I'm staying in my database. So it's our unique information, our donors, I and alums combined with all those best practices. So right now, all I did was open it. I just clicked to open it and it's giving me a summary of Sheila. I can ask more questions about Sheila, right? Or I can use this tool throughout the product to ask about different fundraising best practices, help it draft and refine communications or reports or even make suggestions to me on what to prioritize next. So what I really like about this too is that on day one in your new Raiser's Edge NXT database, you're able to jump in and really put the system to work for you so you can spend less time onboarding and more time building those donor relationships. I've got a meeting here with this constituent. Help me get ready for that, summarize some information that's available to us. I also wanted to take a look at this chat tool through the lens of what we call an opportunity. So I'm gonna tab on over here. Opportunities are records in our system that are helping us keep track of major gift asks. So I found these fabulous prospects, right? We're going to work on an ask, of a major gift for those folks and I'm able to keep track of that in one central place. So I can keep track of, you know, who I'm making the ask of, what am I making, how much is the ask, right, any deadlines, any communications associated, I can link those actions we talked about to these, any documentation, you've got unlimited attachments available to you to track and store any paperwork, donor agreements, pledge agreements, whatever it might be all in one central place. And what I like is that we can put chat for Blackboard AI to work, yes, throughout the database, but here, I think it's really powerful. So I just wanted to highlight that. You may have seen my kind of red box I wanted to call out. I've asked this for help with a strategy for this major gift for Sheila that we've identified. And not only is it giving me concrete steps, timelines, recommendations, so I could do some highlighting here. We're seeing the final piece of the puzzle. It's to make a final phone call, in beginning of December. It's giving me a full spectrum communication plan and strategy for this major gift with timelines, action items, suggestions, things to talk about, but then I can put the database to work and just have it log all of those communication steps as actions for me. So I'll spend less time strategizing, less time logging all those touch points, and more time actually working here with Sheila or the particular donor on building that relationship and and working that major gift. So once we've identified the right prospects, taken the right actions, we'll need visibility into the results. So fundraising leaders, gift officers, we need to understand how our active activities are moving the needle. Right? So I want to come over to, and I'm a tab person, my next tab over here are dashboards. I have this ready for us, but we can access this by clicking on analysis from the navigation menu and lots of analytical course options. If we need to build sophisticated complex queries on our records, we can do that. Traditional reports, we've got that. We're looking at our dashboards. So these dashboards are giving us these visual insights into how is our organization doing. We can monitor our portfolios, those opportunities, major gift asks, activity, pipeline health, or just overall fundraising momentum that we're able to see. So as I'm in these reporting dashboards, we're seeing tabs up at the top here, and these are we call them standard dashboard pages, meaning they're available as soon as you go live with Razer's Edge NXT. Zero lift from anybody in advancement. Again, training background. I could spend a lot of time going through all these insights, but I'll go ahead and just highlight the ones that folks got most excited about back when I did training on these. So over on my overview page, I really, wanted to call out this year over year performance. So I'm able to see here big picture how is our organization doing, year over year. And we're clickable. Right? We can drill down to these. These are interactive. So if I'm identifying, you know, just for example, I see August, which we just closed out. We did alright, but we did very well two Augusts ago. What went on there? Click. I can go ahead and open up a list of the gifts from August of looks like that was fiscal year twenty four. That will pop on open for me. So, again, taking that information immediately into action, what went on? Was there a really fabulous appeal maybe that we sent out? Can we, duplicate or reiterate that one that folks are really responding well to, or was it just a planned gift, pretty significant planned gift that's causing the spike in the graph? We're able to identify that here. I'll close out of this list. I'm also able to see, of course, my top campaigns, my top funds, my top appeals, and I can work my way through each of these, click to load the actual list if I needed to see the actual, record that are making up all those criteria. Let's scroll back up to the top, though. I Let's see. One of the most popular ones when I did training was this retention page, so I wanna make sure I call out this one. Depending on what your system looks like now, if you're doing a lot of spreadsheets like Marty was talking about, you might have to manually calculate a retention rate. We've got it here for you. So we're able to go ahead and see that donor retention rate and then specific our first year donor retention rate as well. And I can click into this data too. So we've got our rolling retention rates. I can see what that looks like over time. One of our most popular options, though, here in Raiser's Edge and Legacy is called our Live Bunce. It stands for last year, but, unfortunately, not this. So we have 3,000 some donors who gave a gift last year in 2025. Haven't given yet in '26. We want them to donate. Right? We wanna bring these folks in. We wanna get that retention rate up. So click, and a list of these records will come on open. And I'll just make this a little bit bigger here. Like Marty was alluding to it in the chat, we do a full spectrum list tool. I could work with this, add some more filters to this. I want to find my live buttons with certain class years, certain majors, whatever it might be, certain geographic areas. We've got tons of filtering options if we might wanna get nice and targeted or segmented with our communications, we can go ahead and do that. There's a list tool that will let us do so, but it's built the basis of my list for me. And if I do want to communicate with these constituents, we've got options for that too. We'll head over in our communications tool. There's a native email tool we can email directly out of this database, send some really nice looking emails to our donors and alums. We've got a few other options there too. So with that in mind, we've looked at identifying prospects, prioritizing our activity, measuring performance. Final piece is operationalizing all of that into some repeatable processes. Right? So workflows are what we're gonna take a look at next, and that's going to help us standardize that. So whether it's moving constituents through a moves management process, coordinating across teams, it's just gonna help us with that consistency. So part of our communication tool, again, standard features, of course, here. We're gonna take a quick peek at the workflow designer tool next. And I just wanted to show us a really, really popular use of this tool. I've got an example of a new donor welcome series. So donor makes their first gift to us. We want to move them through a sequence of communications that is best practice, of course. So we're able to set that up here. Rather than pulling a list and and manually doing this, Razer's Edge NXT will do it for me. So constituent donor makes their very first gift to us. We're gonna send them an email. Three days go by, we'll send them another email and so on, but we get to customize that. So they're gonna move through the sequence of targeted personalized communications automatically. I set this up once. It is all set. So really popular, right, the new donor welcome series, but you can also use this other quite popular uses, would be, for birthdays. Set it up once, they'll get a nice communication for birthday or their giving anniversary. Can also get more targeted too. We saw those really specific donation filters. We can do that as well. Constituent signed up for a monthly gift. I want them to receive maybe monthly stewardship emails. We can do that. Workflows are gonna take all of that off your plate. So that's really where everything comes together. Right? We're identifying the right prospects, prioritizing the right actions. We're measuring our progress, and then workflows are helping to ensure that information is consistently turning into action. So as we think of the questions I talked about, right, who should I focus on? What should I do next? How do I know if I'm making progress? These tools will help us answer that, and that's what's driving stronger fundraising outcomes for us. I mentioned a few times, right, I was in training. So I do have a lot of anecdotal data and people telling me in training how much time our tools are saving them. I'm a stats girl. I like to see the numbers. So if I can here, just do a little bit of clicking and head back over into our slide. I've got some stats I wanna show if you're into those numbers like I am. Those should be coming up in just a second here. There we go. And as those are hopefully coming on up here, Marty, were there any questions kind of the common themes I could answer? I saw some things, but not everything. So I wanna make sure we were Yeah. Very good. Alrighty. Well, again, lots of meaningful action here. We can turn those insights into action. Also wanted to call out here just a great quote from the College of Charleston. Gift authors know exactly where they are with those goals and metrics and what's being used to measure their success. So we've got all that information available to us at our fingertips. But feel free to let us know what questions we can answer. I think just data management was our biggest problem. The system I was using was very complex, and we just did not have the time in our day to make sure that was optimized for our institution. So data was all over the place. We had tons of duplicates. If I still have my screen open, I would show you. We've got a lot of data health management tools right native to Razer's Edge NXT that are gonna help you manage those duplicate records and just really keep that clean data. We had, some trouble there. We definitely had some trouble there because it just wasn't designed really, I would say, for advancement offices or fundraising offices. Those tools just weren't available to us. So a lot of manual work to keep our data clean was a big time constraint, and we take that off your plate. It's a great question. We had none of that. It was pure institutional knowledge, and that is all that we had. It was in folks' heads. So it was really difficult if you've heard the term fishing in the same pond, that was us. We just did not have a picture of the prospects that were out there, capacity, for other folks. We were just asking the same folks over and over. And then I did see a, yeah, I just saw a dashboard related question. I'm on sidebar. Can you filter the gifts to have a clearer picture? Yes. Absolutely. Yeah. So if you wanted to focus, you know, it built the list for you of those that gave a last last year, not yet this year. But I only want to find those who gave a gift last year, not yet this year to a certain initiative from event and so forth. 100%, you can filter out as much as you might need to get a really, really focused Libunt, or reports. Some year, but not yet that, this. Absolutely. Yeah. Feel free to let us know if there's more. Mhmm. Yeah. I think, just where to go, where to click. So starting your day in the work center, particularly when you're learning a brand new fundraising platform, a new system, I always think of as kind of like turning your GPS on. Need a little bit of help when you move to a new area, you're in a new city, need a little bit of turn by turn and help and assistance when you're getting to know something new, and we have that. Go into the work center, and you're gonna see that needs attention section right up at the top. It's gonna let you know what you should focus on, where you should take a look at, and prospect insights will do the same thing too if you're looking to expand that portfolio. It's gonna turn the GPS on for you, give you those directions, let you know kind of what to focus on. Even if you're not too familiar with the system, it's your first day in there, we're gonna give you the hands to hold to help you figure out what to focus on. Where should I start the day? Where do I get started when I learn a new software? That was a really good question. Yeah. Alright. Yeah. Just the ability to have a full record in a central place to keep track of a major gift to us is pretty significant and not something that we have available to us. So it's all in one place. I can see, you know, what are we asking for? And then you can see those projections of how much you anticipate to come in. When do we anticipate to cut money to come in? You can see all those, like you said, projections in the system. And when money does come into, you're able to see that as well. Document storing, we've got, you know, pledge agreements, donor agreements, whatever it may be with those gifts can attach all that in one place. So if I am shuffling portfolios, I could take a look what a fundraiser had done previously. What were those asks? What did they make? What were those communications looking like? Was it typically calls? Do they prefer email? You're able to just really quickly look at the record, see history all in one spot, which we didn't have out. Mhmm. Absolutely. Our database is optimized for fundraising. Right? So there's a whole section of each donor record that is dedicated to moose management. You've got customizable fields in there, one time initial setup we help you out with, and then you can modify as needed. That'll track the specific phase of loose management a donor is in. You can classify your donors by category two. So if you wanted to make sure you can have a really easy way to filter, you know, communications to your principal level donors, your annual level donors, You get to customize all of that so you can filter to that throughout the system. Yeah. And then all those different contact reports, we've got standard reports as well, that will build out those reports for you. So if you are in metric on communications and so forth, we've got those resources too. Last question because I know that we need to turn it over to Alexis for wrap up, and we wanna talk about BBCon. But I want you to address the. action list and the opportunity list because we've been talking about opportunities and dashboards. We've been talking about actions for contacts and things like that. And, again, we did look at constituent list, and I believe you at least referenced the gift list. But let's talk a little bit about action list and opportunity list from a global perspective. Yeah. Particularly for those that might be, you know, not, doing the direct fundraising on a gift offer or maybe you're managing folks that do that. It's a really great place to see the bigger picture. Absolutely. So, like Marty said, you can build out lists of constituents, really any filter of your choosing to filter to specific donors you want to see, analyze, or communicate with, same with gifts or donations, but also actions. So if we want to get a sense of, you know, what are we doing meeting wise, how many meetings did we have this quarter, our dashboards will visualize that for you. So if you want a, you know, a bar chart of the different types of communications you're having, how many phone calls versus meetings versus emails are we having, it'll break that down for you. Or you could drill into the data too and actually get the list. Show me. Right? Show me all the detail on all the meetings we had this past month, this past quarter, whatever it might be. And then quite similarly too, you can build list of opportunities. So I'm managing a team of gift officers. I want to see all the opportunities or major gift asks. Right? Folks are working on, for 10,000 or more, 50,000 or more. I've got amount filters. I've got deadline filters, date filters. Can also have phases of loose management attached to those. So I want to see ones we're actively soliciting right now. We can do that too. So if you are more on the administrative or management side of gift office gift officer ring, so to speak, you can definitely see that bigger picture with our list tool. Yeah. Good points. Well, I'm not seeing any other questions, in the q and a, so maybe this would be a good time to turn it back over to, Alexis for our wrap up. Those were a lot of great questions and a lot of great input. So thank you so much, Kim and Marty. We really appreciate that. We appreciate you guys staying on and engaging with us. Before we leave, I do want to remind you all that b b con twenty twenty six is approaching. We do hope to see you in Columbus, Ohio this September. So if you, are not already registered, you can go to bbconference.com. And it does look like I have mistakenly added in the wrong slide here.
