Can anybody hear me? Thank you for anyone that's still here in the room with me. I so appreciate that. I live in the great state of Maine where we got eight inches of snow yesterday, and about twenty minutes ago, I lost my Internet. So I was unable to join this session until I was able to get my phone hotspot set up to take it here. So I am so sorry for the delay, and I apologize profusely. I'm going to try to go over this information as quickly as possible and see if we can squeeze it in. I'll stay on a little longer if you can. I apologize a thousand times. Today, we're talking about getting going with the, discounts that we have in Altru. So without further ado, hi. I'm Evan. I live in Maine, and we got a lot of snow yesterday. I'm gonna skip the tell us about yourself. You guys have been doing a lot of this stuff, in there yourselves. I appreciate you doing this. That's right, Carolina. Tons of snow for us. Alright. So Blackbaud discounts really quick in Altru. You can create a wide variety of discounts, to suit a number of your purposes. We can create discounts on tickets, discounts on merchandise items. You can create discounts that only work with specific memberships. The recording will be sent to you, Cassandra, and when this is all over, appreciate it. You can also create discounts for specific constituencies as well as memberships, and we're gonna go over those, all today. When you create a discount, you need to make yourselves aware of these questions before you go into it. How is this gonna be applied manually or automatically? Who's gonna receive this discount, how long should the discount last, and what specifically you're going to be discounting. When you wanna get started with this, we go into the tickets area, That's where it's located. Discounts are located in the ticket area under discounts and promotions. However, as mentioned before, these don't always apply to tickets. That's just where we create them. You have three different discount types, standard with required purchase and quantity. The most common is standard, but the other types can be just as useful. I apologize if I'm going fast, guys. A standard discount can be applied to any program or merchandise item from your organization. For example, a student discount could offer a 10% off tickets or merchandise with a valid student ID. You can also configure standard discounts for individual items or for entire orders, and you can restrict them by the sales method. You can restrict them by the day, date, time. You can even do one about just addresses, memberships, and constituency. We also can do required purchase discounts. Unlike standard discounts which apply to any item without conditions, required purchase discounts offer savings only with patrons buy a specific item. For example, you can set up a discount where purchasing one full price ticket grants a free or discounted ticket. These discounts can also apply to, merchandise or a mix of ticks merchandise and the same restrictions can be placed on the as the standard ones. With quantity discounts, you can configure discounts that are applicable when a specific number of tickets or merchandise items are purchased. Quantity discounts can be applied automatically, manually, or by a promotion code. Additionally, you can set a specific price that applies to all tickets or items sold. For tickets, the specific price discount is given regardless of price types as long as the quantity requirement is made. If the per ticket cost is of some price types is already lower than the quantity discount, the lower price will remain. Stephanie, that's a great question, and the answer is yes. For required purchase discounts, they need to be applied in the same card. You can't, like, buy a bunch of tickets today and then that discount will be applied, like, next time you log in, two days from now. Altru does let you create discounts that can only apply to certain persons or work in certain situations. And we have lots of ways to put restrictions on those, discounts. You can create from just members, certain constituencies by address, date, time, all that stuff. And there's three ways to do it, automatically, manually, or with a code. So think about you how you want this to work. If it's automatically, that means that if the parameters of the discount are met, it goes into effect without intervention from you or your staff. Manually means you need to select it before completing the order by clicking the discount and promotions button on the daily sales screen. Manually can only be done on daily sales or the advanced sales. And finally, with code means that there's a prompt where a code needs to be entered before the discount applies. So, again, what is it gonna cover? Is it the entire order or the single item? You need to have all those things figured out. So you maybe want more specifics to make sure it works the way you want. If it's gonna cover the entire order, all you need to think about is how much it will take off. And with the few minutes left, I'm going to do a quick demo. But before I get it over there, I wanted to make sure you guys all go to the docs section. There's lots of great information in the docs section, like how do I add discounts, reporting on discounts and all that stuff. So make sure you go check that out. And now I'm going to look at the, is there any hope of the query bug being fixed? I don't know anything about the query bug, where it's at and how it's working. Sorry, Joe. I would you'd have to reach out to support about that one. Sad trombone. Alright. Let's see here. Okay. You should be seeing the Altru now. So we're gonna go over here into the ticket section. We're gonna go into our merchandise discounts, and this is a fake Ultra database, so you'll see thousands of discounts in here. We're gonna do a standard one, which is the most common one. So naming it is important, but the description is equally as important because putting in the description helps other people in your organization who are not you understand what the purpose of this discount is, why you have it. A 100% off membership discount code. Discounts don't necessarily apply to membership purchases like that. I don't know that that would work, Elizabeth. That's a great question. And I'll you know what? I'd like to just get back to you on that, so I don't spend too much time thinking about that. In this situation you're seeing here, there we're doing a discount. This says it's applying to order, but if you switch it to item, that's gonna give you more choices. So you're not just doing it on everything. You can choose applies to merchandise or applies to tickets or you can undo that and say it only applies to merchandise. Or maybe it's gonna apply to tickets. But with the tickets, you have to choose a price type. And with the merchandise, you'd have to choose a price type too. You can also limit the number of times that this can be applied. That's only gonna, work per, cart. When you do the availability, this is where you can make it available. You can say, I don't want it to be available on online or I do. I don't want this to be available on Sundays. I don't know why, but maybe you just want them to only get this through weekend or without the weekend rather. Joe asked a question, is there a way to limit the total number of times a discount is used? Let's say a radio promo code. Not really. Like, there's no way to put in here and say, like, this can only you know, once somebody gets it once, they can never get it again. Right now, it's got a uses allowed for one, but if somebody were to leave and come back, it's gonna get the discount again working in that scenario. So if you use a promo code, then you need to, you can actually go in and see who's gotten it and you can remove like the ability that way. There's also like by adding a constituency or something like that. There's also a way to do it just for program specific. So if you choose this right here, it's gonna only work with a specific program. With merchandise, you can set it to all merchandise or specific merchandise or specific departments. Maybe you don't want it to work on everything, but you do want it to work on books and bric a brac. So those discounts right there are all gonna be set up with different individual things that are gonna help make it so that it's not just a broad discount. I do recommend actually that you use these and you try to make specific discounts for specific things. Right here is where we restrict this discount to certain memberships. So you pick a membership that's in here, and you can pick a level or you can have any level as a choice. I can also restrict it to a specific constituency. So maybe you only want this to work for board members. And more importantly, this is a fun one, you can restrict it by their address. And this is a smart query that you set up. So, again, we have a lot of different ways to restrict when it's gonna be sold, who it's gonna be sold to, and how often it's going to be done. But there isn't a way to do it in such a way that someone can only ever do it one time, and then it will never offer it to them again, which is something that Joe asked earlier. So these discount work in that manner in here. So if you are under you were looking here under standard discount and you say you don't see these tabs across the top right here, that might be something set up, with your user roles. But try filling in whatever information you can and then see if the availability comes. Because if I have it on, like, order, notice that those disappear because there's no point in setting up the different things for the item if there's no so programs and merchandise will leave if it's per item. If you just have it set to a place to an order, then it's gonna leave those tabs away. That make sense, Jess? Okay. That was easily a land speed record in me delivering this and talking about discounts. I am so sorry that it came to that. I'm actually just really grateful that my hotspot, stayed on this whole time. No. There's not a way to limit how many times a discount is used other than a, the limiting I said I showed you with the per item and things like that. When you have it limit the number of times a discount can be applied. That's the only time you can do a limiting. And, yes, Joe, I was like Speedy Gonzales, only without a bad accent. I'm so sorry if I spoke too quickly. And if you guys have any questions, I'm here to hang on. But I also wanna rep you know, make sure people can leave if they've gotta leave. Please make sure you get the docs section and you go and grab those documents in there. They're very, very useful. These are the resources that are in there. If you have any questions or you wanna talk some more about some other items, I'm here to talk. I will say that one of the things we talk about a lot when people wanna get more out of Altru is talking about advisory plus, which is a one to one consulting designed to help you guys get more out of the system. If you want to know more about that, just let me know in the chat and I can send some information your way. I wanna make sure you know that there's more than just me for resources. So here's your clover of resources including Blackbaud University, which has lots of coursework that helps with this stuff, the community, which has got wonderful people like all of you in there helping each other out. Our knowledge base of course which is like thousands of published solutions helpful for you guys. And of course customer support which you guys are probably all aware of. So make sure that you guys get a chance to reach out to all of those. Is there any follow-up questions from my ridiculously fast session? Thanks so much, guys, for your patience. Quick question. I need to create employee discount on our classes by code, but when I did it, it didn't work, so I must have done something wrong in the setup. Yeah. Jess, I would recommend opening a support case and just talking to support, share with them, and let them know that that's going on and they can look at it and see why it wouldn't work. They should probably be able to figure it out. Amber says, when will we be able to stack discounts? Amber, I don't know that kind of a answer. Unfortunately, when you work in a very, customer facing job like mine, they tend to not tell you things unless they are guaranteed that it's gonna work and they're ready to put it out there. So they wouldn't tell me that because I'm a blabbermouth, but I don't know anything. Yeah. You there is a way to set up, a time frame, Joe, when you, on the same area where I showed a days, you can set up a time frame that it's only, like, available from nine to five. No. It's not calendar days, Joe. Thank you. Yes. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough. Yeah. It's it's set up only by, like, what days of the week? Now it can also do a calendar like, you know, Monday through fry it has a calendar option, but it can't do, like, Monday through Friday. There is an Altru session for queries tomorrow. I don't know if I have a link on that, but there is one going out there. Let me see if I can pull one up. Alright. I've got it right here. If you can just wait on. I'm pulling it up right now. I'm gonna send you the link. Thank you, Joe. I am gonna try to get some, Wi Fi free pie here. It's tough when your job relies on the Internet and the Internet goes down. Here is that registration that you asked for, Jess. This is a session on Ultra queries tomorrow. If you guys should all go check it out, it's gonna be the bomb. Any other questions? I'm still here. I know we're over time. You said item versus order, Jess? I'm not sure what you mean. So an order basically means anything. So it could be, you know, every time you basically open up a cart for somebody, that's all an order. An order could be tickets and merchandise at the same time. So maybe somebody puts in you know, they go to the daily sales and they say, yeah. I'd like to, you know, get a ticket to go in the front door, and I'd also like, you know, some coffee from the gift shop, and that's all being done in the same, you know, counter. That's all considered one order. And if they have a discount that's set up, that's going to give them 10% off, you know what I mean, then it's going to automatically apply to them. And so it's gonna give them 10% off every single thing. So, yes, it incorporates all scheduled programs. Whereas when you do an order, it's gonna be, like, specific to that the item rather, specific items it's looking in there. It's why all those tabs disappear when you, change it to, order versus item because order is just everything. Happy to help. Alright. I see our numbers are dropped down a lot. Any other questions? Well, I really appreciate you guys coming in and bearing with me through my technical difficulties. I hope you have a great rest of your day, and enjoy your holiday season. Take care. Thanks, Carolina. Eight inches. It was great.
